Veselovskoe reservoir fishing. Veselovskoye Reservoir. Fishing in the Moscow region on the Istra Reservoir

Veselovskoye Reservoir, built on the Manych River, a tributary of the Don, is a very popular fishing spot not only among residents of Rostov, but also other regions of southern Russia.

In addition, this body of water is of increased interest to fishermen from Ukraine. Moreover, in terms of accessibility for Ukrainian fishermen from the eastern regions, it can compete with fishing on the lower Volga and Akhtuba.

What is being caught?

If we consider fishing predatory fish, then pike perch will be in first place. It is the opportunity to catch pike perch that attracts jig fans to fishing at the Veselovsky Reservoir. The second most popular fish is perch. Moreover, in terms of dynamism, perch fishing can easily take first place. And if we take into account that the perch in this reservoir is quite large, then interest in catching it is growing from year to year.

Naturally, there are pike in the reservoir. But one gets the impression that pike are losing to pike perch and pike perch in the competition for hunting places and food supply. Pike is most often caught as bycatch. Moreover, quite large fish may come across.

Of the peaceful fish, the most attractive is the local ram, which is a type of roach. Moreover, this fish is quite large, striking in its strength and tenacity. It can be caught both in open water and from ice.

Local bream is also a coveted trophy for many. Moreover, the bream here is quite large, which is, in principle, typical for large bodies of water. Large crucian carp can also be caught together with bream. Moreover, both bream and crucian carp are caught both in open water and from ice. Although crucian carp is not always actively caught.

Fishing methods on the Veselovsky Reservoir

In open water, this is mainly fishing from boats. The coastline of the reservoir is heavily indented with various branches and bays. You need to look for pike perch and pike perch while moving around the pond. The main method of catching a predator is spinning. Moreover, this is not the case when microjig will be relevant. Of course, if you want to practice catching small perch, then very small baits and heads with minimal weight are also suitable. But if there is normal fish, then why do this?

Perch often stays on underwater plateaus with colonies of shells on the bottom. Depths in these places can reach 3-5 meters. In addition to jig fishing, perch responds well to rotating spoons and wobblers.

As for pike perch, then jig fishing on this body of water there is no competition. But first of all, you need to find the fish. For such large bodies of water, an echo sounder and navigator will be very useful. Pike perch quite often stays in the same places. Although many anglers who fish on the Veselovsky Reservoir believe that local pike perch are not tied to a specific place and migrate behind schools of forage white fish.

White fish(roach, bream, silver bream) and crucian carp on the Veselovsky Reservoir are also caught from boats. And they use different ways. Peaceful fish are caught both on float tackle and on side fishing rods. Everything happens in the traditional way. One point is fed from the boat, a buoy is set.

Bream sticks to deeper places. It must be said that in this reservoir the bed of the river on which the reservoir is built is not very pronounced. But there are quite enough underwater holes and flooded ravines, where bream mainly hang out. Roach (ram) stays on flat plateaus, and is somewhat easier to find.

In winter, ram and perch are excellently caught on the reservoir. Things are somewhat worse with bream, pike perch and crucian carp. Finding a ram is much easier than finding and feeding a school of bream or bream. Occasionally a large crucian carp is caught. White fish are caught stationary, often using tents. Without a tent, fishing in the reservoir can be completely uncomfortable due to the wind and drifting snow.

Fishing for pike perch is more of a walking fishery, using spinners and balancers. And here the more important thing is to find fish. In winter, pike perch migrates long distances and its accumulation can be observed in a variety of places. Quite large pike perch are caught not only on artificial baits, but also on girders.

I spent several days on the banks of the Kanevsky Reservoir, visiting friends. Meeting with my institute friends, water, sun, beautiful places. Fishing didn’t really figure in my plans, so this is more of a photo report of the trip. But a few fishing-related notes can be given.

We all came from different cities and even countries to the city on the banks of the Dnieper and the Kanev Reservoir. Two of my friends live here, the hosts of our event, so to speak. 😉

We loaded things onto quite an impressive duralumin boat, “Kazanka” and set off on our four-day voyage.

This is truly a “sea” created by man in central Ukraine. Yes, these expanses are in no way inferior to many large sea bays where I have fished.

The distance to the opposite shore is at least 4-5 km. We fly there by motor, with the breeze.

Beautiful shores. It's not so crowded here, because... There is no access from this bank. Only those who have a boat with a motor rest here. I love it when it's not crowded.

We moor, drop anchor, disembark ourselves, take our things ashore, and begin to prepare the camp. Someone is digging in a table and benches, someone is setting up our large and comfortable tent. The organization of the camp smoothly transitions into relaxation. It's nice to chat with friends.

We spend time around the fire, drinking vodka and barbecue, with dear friends. Time flies by quickly. Here comes the sunset.

In the morning we decide to go for a little ride around the water area. Let's take some pictures of the views, maybe do a little fishing, take a spinning rod...

The sun is rising.

We are moving away from our shore to the opposite one. Yesterday we saw extensive sandbanks there with sparse algae. Those areas seemed promising to me.

I was somewhat embarrassed that the perch were not biting in such interesting places. And spinners and poppers and small wobblers - nothing aroused the interest of the predator. And there were no signs that he was chasing small things in the shallows. Well... Someone fell asleep at the bottom of the boat. I persisted a little, but soon I also gave up. We return to camp.

The next day we also sail on a short voyage along the picturesque shores of the reservoir.

High sandy cliffs, with rocky outcroppings, gave way to wooded areas, pine forests and birch forests.

As we motor along the shores, we encounter rare yachts and fishing boats. Fishermen are clearly jigging on the coastal edges. We'll try something like this tomorrow morning.

We saw only a few buildings along the shore. Some small single house by the water.

Well, the “poor hut” on the cliff... The whole castle. Someone is clearly a supporter of remote residences to venture into this wilderness.

The next morning I go out to the shallows with a spinning rod. Between me and the edge, there are 10 meters of clear water, then there is a 3-4m strip of algae, and there is a dump. In front of the grass, on a small Mepps Aglia No. 0 spinner, I catch small chubs. Yes, I'm letting go. We need something more solid.

I move along the shore. There are rocky outcrops on a high sandy cliff. There is an area here where there is not much algae.

I also fish this area with small spinners. And so, I caught a pike perch. Not big, but quite a bearable size.

But there are no more bites. The sun rises and the clock shows eight o'clock. Apparently, I caught the very end of a flock of pike perch reaching the sandbank. We get into the boat and stand on the dump. Here we fish with jig baits - narrow-bodied Manns Predator 2.5 white vibrotails, on a jig head weighing 12g. The result is three more pike perch. True, these ones are already a little smaller than the first one taken in the shallows...

Well, we caught a few fish. Enough. We'll figure out how to do it a little later in the evening.

On a tree right in the middle of our camp, we saw a whole family of huge stag beetles. Handsome men.

And it’s generally beautiful here.

I really enjoyed my vacation. But it's time for us. We burn garbage.

We're loading things. And we set off on the way back.

Istra Reservoir

Istra reservoir is one of the largest reservoirs in the Moscow region. Built by 1935 on the Istra River; located on the map of the Istra district, which occupies part of the territory of the north-west of the Moscow region.

It has an elongated shape of 22 km in length and a relatively small (up to 2 km) width. The depths on the fairway reach 23 m. It is a source (with a maximum level of 183 million cubic meters) of water supply to Moscow. Previously, this reservoir in the Moscow region was used for navigation, the length of the route was 36 km.

Nature of the Istra Reservoir basin

The entire territory of the Istra reservoir is of a rugged type, replete with many hills covered with alternating fields and mixed forests. The banks of the reservoir are winding; numerous bays cut into them in place of flooded small rivers, which have long been favored by fishing enthusiasts.

Among the aquatic inhabitants of the reservoir, traditional fish species for the region predominate. The catches of amateur fishermen are most often dominated by roach and bleak, the number of which in the reservoir is significant. There are, of course, the ubiquitous “minke whales” - perches - the inhabitants coastal zones and from the more respectable “brothers” who have chosen deep places. If you try, you can catch bream and similar-shaped, but smaller breams. For lovers spinning fishing Fishing in the Istra region often brings prey in the form of pike and pike perch.

There are many springs in the coastal strip of the reservoir. This eliminates oxygen starvation of fish in winter; its death has never been observed at the reservoir.

Fishing in the Moscow region on the Istra Reservoir

Fish on the Istra Reservoir as a “savage” or stop at one of fishing bases. Among the latter, the most famous, visited by fishermen:

  • “Istra”, which is located right on the shore of the reservoir, near the bay near the Yakimansky state farm;
  • “Nudol”, named after the flooded river, on the banks of which (near the settlement of Radiontsevo) it was located;
  • “Pyatnitsky Reach”, located, as the name suggests, near the village of Pyatnitsa;
  • “Lopotovo”, which “appropriated” the name of the village, a kilometer from which it is located.

Fishermen coming to the reservoir use various tackles: in summer - float rods, spinning rods, donks, mugs; in winter - spinners, jigs. The most famous and promising fishing spots:

  • area of the island “Uyutny”, near the village of Chernushki, immediately beyond the exit from the bay existing there; here, and this is confirmed by reports of fishing on the Istra Reservoir, with mugs, spinning rods are pecked in the morning by pike perch, which lives among the stumps of a cleared forest, flooded next to the river bed. Istra;
  • a bay in the area of the Nudol River flowing into the reservoir; in it they fish with mugs and winter lures from a boat good perches; if you swim deeper into the bay, you can find roach and bream;
  • Timofeevsky and Lopatinsky reaches, formed in a reservoir opposite the village of Pyatnitsa; biting in these places different fish for any gear.

Winter fishing on the Istra Reservoir

The coolest place for winter fishing is the bay and the bed of the Katysh River, which flows into the reservoir on the right side. The deep places here have been attracting Moscow and local fishermen for many years.

They catch roach and small-sized perches, usually located along the riverbed. According to fishing reports on the Istra Reservoir, the most active bite here is observed at the end winter period when the water level in a reservoir is artificially lowered and, as a result, a slight current appears in the Katysh River. The latter brings fresh water, which attracts fish.

Rest on the Istra Reservoir

Recreation on this reservoir is one of the best in the Moscow region. There is beautiful nature around the Istra Reservoir, the reservoir itself is picturesque, and is located in a clean area of the Moscow region. Many private dachas and cottages have been built along its banks; here are the best holiday homes, boarding houses, bases and holiday homes on the Istra reservoir in the Moscow region. Their territories, for the most part, are not regime areas; You can always go to them (for example, for a fee), relax, and go fishing.

Recreation centers on the Istra reservoir

Most of the recreation centers on the reservoir were built along the river bed. Istra: in the area of the village of Lamishino there are 10 of them (Energy, TsNIIS, Neptune-1, Volna, Physicist, Furniture Man, Glebovka, MAI, Istra, Apogey), the settlement of Lopotovo - 7 (Orion, Maple, Surf, Romantic, Cape Verde, Neptune- 2, Rosinka). There are bases and boarding houses on the Istra reservoir, built on the banks of the bay of the river. Katysh (near the villages of Koltyshevo (1), Loginovo (1)), r. Nudol (near the villages of Ivanovskoye (3), Lyshchevo (1)), r. Ramenka (near the village of Rozhdestveno (1), Yakunino (2)), r. Katyshka (near the villages of Polezhaiki (2), Lopotovo (1), Trusovo (3), between Sokolovo and Polezhaiki (3)), etc.

B/o "Forget-me-not"

The recreation center (Internet address http://nezabudka-bo.ru) is located near the city of Solnechnogorsk, at a distance of 35 km from the Moscow Ring Road. Occupies 7 hectares of the coastal territory of the Istra reservoir; Centuries-old spruce and pine trees grow around it.

Two spacious two-story houses welcome guests all year round. They are designed to receive guests of 12...30 people. The houses have separate rooms, halls, saunas, small swimming pools, billiards. You can stay in a hotel (28 places), in guest rooms at the bar (12 people). In summer, wooden summer houses welcome guests.

For swimming there is its own equipped beach on the Istra Reservoir. There is a boat station with boat rentals, comfortable gazebos, next to which there are barbecue areas.

Ecology of the Istra Reservoir

On the map of the Moscow Region, the Istra Reservoir stands out among others not only because of its beauty, picturesqueness, and the preference of Muscovites when choosing vacation spots, but also because of its fairly clean water and surrounding nature. This is, first of all, the result of its status as a repository of strategic water reserves for the capital and the entire region.

The ecology of the reservoir “suffers” mainly from the influx of tourists - their ever-growing number and the products of their stay, which remain in large quantities in areas adjacent to the reservoir. Especially if all this is not removed on time, but ends up in the water, which ultimately causes a decrease in oxygen in the water and algae bloom.

Another problem of the Istra Reservoir is the aggressive development of its banks. In addition to the fact that most of them are built with violations, the structures are not equipped with the necessary treatment facilities, sewerage, and most of the sewage is discharged into the reservoir.

How to get to the Istra Reservoir

There are many routes to the reservoir. It all depends on the place where you are going to relax and go fishing.

Directions to the recreation area near the village of Trusovo

The place is closest to the capital, you can get to it by your car, public transport. The first is done along Pyatnitskoye Highway, which starts from the Moscow Ring Road (between Volokolamskoye and Leningradskoye). The road is beautiful, passes through the forest. But it has one lane, which affects the speed of movement.

Moving from the Moscow Ring Road, cross the concrete ring at the traffic light (road A107), then continue straight to the village. Sokolovo. After it, turn left (the angle of rotation is obtuse) and after 1 km there is a parking lot where you leave the car. You need to go down to the beach a little to the right.

Directions to the recreation area near the village of Lyshchevo

This zone is one of the cleanest on the Istra Reservoir and is located in the valley of the river. Nudoli. They get to it along the Volokolamsk highway. First, they get to the city of Istra and along it through Moskovskaya, Pervomaiskaya and Sovetskaya streets. At the end they come across a T-shaped intersection and turn right from Volokolamka to Buzharovo. They cross it, move further through Sinevo, Nikitskoye, drive past the turns to Rodiontsevo, Lyshchevo and along the asphalt road they reach the place. More precisely, to the fence enclosing it, behind which you can climb through numerous holes. The water is no more than 10 m away, so it’s easy to watch a car left at the fence.

You can drive further. At the end you will find a dead end, a parking lot, and a checkpoint of a former children's hospital. Access to the territory is free, which is used by many fishermen, tourists and just vacationers. Their number is significantly less than in other places in the reservoir.

Novosibirsk and the Novosibirsk region are very rich in reservoirs where you can have excellent fishing and relaxation. Fishing in Novosibirsk can take place on more than 400 rivers, the largest and most famous of which is the Ob.

The Ob Reservoir, which is often called the Ob Sea, is very popular among experienced and novice fishermen. Boats come to fish from all over the country, and every year the number of fishermen increases rapidly. Abundance various types The fish in the reservoir have attracted fishermen for many years.

But the Novosibirsk region is famous not only for its rivers; it has more than 2,500 lakes where you can spend time usefully and enjoy fishing. The largest lakes in Novosibirsk are Chany, Sartlan and Ubinskoye. You can also choose a tourist base for yourself, and, if you wish, even get out to a paid reservoir.

There are about 430 rivers flowing in Novosibirsk, the average length of which is much more than 10 kilometers. If you take a calculator in one hand and a map in the other, then the total length of the rivers flowing in the Novosibirsk region will be about 12 km. Most of the large rivers belong to the Ob River basin, these are the Inya, Shegarka, Berd and many others.

Almost the entire remaining half is included in the Irtysh River basin, the largest rivers being the Tara, Om, Uy and many others. The Ob is considered the largest river in Novosibirsk. The largest body of water in the region, the Novosibirsk Reservoir, is located on this river. The area of which is about 1070 km². In addition, there are more than 3.5 thousand small lakes on its territory.

Fishing in the Novosibirsk region is very popular among all fishermen. The good news is that there is enough space for fishing with a float rod and spinning rod for everyone, and some manage to occupy a promising place even for fishing with a feeder from the shore.

The Ob River divides Novosibirsk into two halves. Fishermen are pleased with the presence of such a river in the region, because for the most part fishing in Novosibirsk takes place on the Ob River, thanks to its wealth of fish resources and excellent conditions. Spinning fishing is especially popular among fishermen.

The Novosibirsk Reservoir is also a popular place for fishing. And if we take into account the presence of medium-sized lakes and small rivers on its territory, then there is freedom for spinners even from neighboring regions, who carefully analyze maps of reservoirs. If you are counting on catching a trophy fish, then within the city of Ob you will not have to count on a trophy, here the weight of the caught fish rarely exceeds 1 kg.

In search of trophy fish, you have to go outside the city limits. The key to successful fishing in Novosibirsk is right choice fishing spots. Catching a pike weighing more than 2 kilograms is not at all difficult, the main thing is to find it. Some fishermen manage to find fish weighing more than 10 kilograms, but they say that they need to find a place and then position the boat correctly along the Ob River bed.

I won’t bore you with long conversations about promising and fishing spots in Novosibirsk. Fish can be caught everywhere, the main thing is to find it, choose the right bait, tackle and bait, and then all that remains is to fish it out. Let's take a closer look at the places where fishing in Novosibirsk will be successful:

  • Summer fishing in Novosibirsk is best done on the dam section of the Ob River;
  • You can try your fishing luck in places from the dam area to the Komsomolsky bridge;
  • Fishing will be promising starting from the mouth of the Inya River;
  • You can look for fish at the mouth of the Inya River;
  • I have repeatedly caught large fish in the area of Bugrinsky beach;
  • You can try your luck on the Ob River, under the new bridge; more than once I had to fish there from a boat with a float rod; I caught qualifying bream and there was a small ide in the by-catch;
  • Worth your time Special attention the area of treatment facilities at the thermal power plant located on the Ob River;
  • I recommend that you get to the village of Mochishche and pay attention to the tributaries of the Ob;
  • The best place for fishing in Novosibirsk is the reservoir of the same name;
  • There is a lot of fish in Berdsky Bay;
  • Near the village of Shaitik there is Lake Chany, in which there is a lot of fish;
  • The fishing reserves of Lake Sartlan are no less;
  • Particular attention should be paid to the Chulym and Kargat rivers (if there is a license, even commercial fishing with nets is allowed);
  • Catching float rod permitted on Lake Yarkul;
  • A lake called Good can be an excellent place for fishing.

Novosibirsk fishing differs from fishing in the Moscow region in not many factors, there are still a lot of fish of various types, and the presence of many places for paid and free fishing. Well, of course there is a difference in geographical location, but this is not so important.

Caught January 25, 2017 on Instrumentalny. We arrived at the reservoir at about 10 o'clock in the morning and left for lunch, at about 2 o'clock. The fish were caught only by actively playing with a jig. We tried to leave the jig on the bottom, there were bites, but not a single effective hook. Black jigs performed best. We caught it at a depth of about 4 meters.

Fishing in Novosibirsk on the Krasny Yar River. We caught them mainly using balance beams. The place was chosen not far from the red yar, immediately after descending from the mountain. We got on the ice at about 11 o'clock, because when entering from the shore, a friend got his feet wet and had to return to the car. We drilled several holes right near the shore, caught a couple of dozen perches the size of a pack of cigarettes, and went on to search.

We walked around the pond a little, made a couple of dozen holes, still didn’t catch anything, and it was decided to go to the old holes. Better change than nothing. It was decided to put up a tent in a promising place, since the weather was not very good. I hooked a crucian carp and a pike bit me; I also caught a large perch. He left the pond at about 2 o'clock in the afternoon.

Fishing in Novosibirsk on the Bugrinsky Bridge. This was my first fishing in this area, I decided to try out a spinning rod, by the way, I fished on September 8, 2016. The fishing location was chosen for a reason; it is the most promising place near my home. I fished in wading boots, since there was no boat. The weather was good, and the catch included only 1 pike, weighing about 150 grams (which I later released) and one unfortunate loss.

The Ob River was chosen as the fishing spot. Tashara. Fishing date: 09/09/2016. After a little consultation with our comrades, we decided to go catch a predator near Tashara. The interesting thing is that until about 10 am we did not even see a small bite, constantly moving along the river, we finally caught the first pike. The entire catch is shown in the photo, the fishing depth is approximately 4 meters.

It's finished! Finally got to wait for my first trip to the ice! All week I gathered, negotiated, and waited, waited, waited. From the very beginning, it was decided to go to the Veselovskoye Reservoir, and other options were not even considered. On the first ice there you can find commercial perch, weighing per kilogram, but you need to know where to look. Because I’m not good at catching perch or catching other predatory fish - I went with more experienced comrades.

So, get up at 4 am (you can’t even call it morning), quickly get ready and hit the road. Having left Rostov, I discover that at a temperature of -11 it is pouring rain, immediately freezing the ground. I don’t drive too hard, I stop in Bataysk. The trio in the form of David, Dron and Andryukha Gnezdilov are already waiting for me there. They accompany me to the Red Garden, where I flog my car and move to Niva. It's almost 6 am. Let's move out. At the same time, Valera and Andrey777 were leaving Rostov. Prem. The track is not slippery yet, but we still don’t drive. We go as best we can. There are a lot of trucks parked on the sides of the M4. They spend the night and wait for good weather for the hike. The Volgodonsk highway is almost empty. On the highway, out of all the variety of brands and models of cars, there are mainly Niva and other products of the domestic all-terrain vehicle industry. At this hour everyone is heading out for their first winter fishing trip of the season. Along the way, I called with friends who drove a UAZ. He already speaks Veselovsky. In some places the crossings are such that a UAZ vehicle could barely get there. Hmmm, our Valerych is driving a Shivrol Lanos. Will it pass? Well, as a last resort, we’ll send him to Rybnadzor. There is access in any weather. We meet with Valera in Vesele. We tell the situation. He says that a lot of cars are rushing to Kazachiy, that’s why he’s with us

Let's move on. Cossack, and the primer flooded. The first change... Valera slips through, the second one is also tough for him. Then we get out to the ice. We went out, chatted, and decided to go further along the shore. Let's turn around prem. This is the third shift. Depth - knee-deep. There was only one car driving ahead of us. We slipped through, and Valerych... niasal. We drove another 200 meters while Valera was trying to get out. We look - and there the primer is completely covered with snow. Even Niva won't pass. We go to Valera, pull him out with a cable. We tell you not to shaggy grandma and don’t even think about other entrances to the water. If so, we’ll call each other soon.

Valera goes home, but we move on. And then you can’t drive on the dirt road. The tracks of a single car lead to the field. Well, we follow them. And even then, in some places, Nyvka was making a good noise in her attempts to get out of the snowdrifts. Another 15 minutes of driving and a storm (and the shaking was worse than any ship's pitch) and we were there. There is another Niva nearby. No one else. Let's get ready, get dressed and go on the ice. The ice pick showed that the ice was 7-10 cm. Last year we went out on the first ice when the thickness was only 4 cm. So you can walk without fear.
They didn't walk far. And halfway to storm the coastal edge. And there is silence there. David grabbed a couple of small perches and that was it. That was the end of it. Further searches were also unsuccessful. Valera came up with Andryukha. Grit - where they landed, the people are sitting, mostly smoking bamboo. Only a couple of people managed to get medium-sized kokuni. The rest are silent. They drilled around us and went closer to the big water with nothing. We decide to move away from big water, for one promising place. Another 15 minutes drive - and we are at a new place in the same beam. There are more people here - 20-30 people, but there are no groups. Everyone is scattered everywhere. Let's get started. Drilled - silence. After 20 minutes we have breakfast. While eating the meal, we watch as a guy snatches about 2 kilograms of pike perch from the zherlitsa. It’s not a big pike perch, but I got caught.

After lunch we split up. David and I continue along the shore, Dron and Andryukha Gnezdilov remain to drill in the nearby area. I’m sitting above one of the holes on the locker, fishing. And then a sharp, ringing rumble rushes right under me. Not a crash, but a hum. My soul is already in my heels. In an instant I run 10 meters away. More experienced comrades say that the ice is getting stronger, and the sound is quite healthy. It took me a long time to get used to this sound, then I even started to like it. During breakfast, we roll, we also stand and chat. 5 people on 4 square meters. There is already a distinct crack and a triangle of cracks measuring 1*1*1 meter has formed. 3 people jumped away immediately, 2 more remained standing where they were and were rowing - like this is normal... The ice is getting stronger! It seems that when someone fails, they will also say that this is normal and the ice is getting stronger.

In general, when we went a little closer to the shore, first David and then I snatched a couple of perches from one hole. Perch in leeches. From yesterday to today, the pressure jumped by more than 10 mm Hg. and the perch stands still and doesn’t move. To catch him, you need to bring the balance beam right under his face. Thus, there is no point in staying too long in one place, and David and I walk along the shore. I have 2 more perches. David has more. And such festivities continue right up to the district. The perch is not large - up to 300 grams. The last half hour has been completely silent.

And now about the weather:
On Thursday, December 17, there was a severe snowstorm and at -10, real hail fell from the sky (up to 3mm in diameter). Stormy wind, the M4 highway stopped. There is a state of emergency in the north of the region. By evening, more than 1,000 km of trails were closed. (M4 "Don" from Krasnodar to Voronezh and smaller ones). We already thought that fishing had gone south, because... Forecasters promised normalization of the weather only by Sunday. On Friday, contrary to all forecasts, there was calm frosty weather with partly cloudy weather. Just what we needed! In the evening it actually began to rain freezing rain. This is when it rains and freezes immediately upon touching the ground or other objects. On Saturday morning there was the same crap, but there was no heavy ice on the roads. When we arrived at Veselovskoye there was a slight wind. With this, fishing was quite comfortable. By lunchtime the wind had completely died down, but after a short respite it began to blow new strength, turning into a storm again. Then hail fell from the sky again, and heavy drifting snow drifted across the ice. But even in such conditions you can fish. Then 2 people from Rostov call me - they say it’s raining, and the city is turning into a skating rink before our eyes. Everything freezes, from roads to trees and wires. This rain came to us with an hour and a half delay. And with such rain there was no question of any comfortable fishing. Wet and disgusting. And this is at a temperature of about -5. We began to pack up, go ashore and hit the road. While we were driving along dirt roads, I called Valera. It turns out he had already left an hour ago and is now not far from the Volgodonsk highway. We are still on Veselovsky. In Kazachy there is an incomprehensible picture. On the primer it is 9 or 8. We drive around it off-road. We go to the right, and on the left we see a crowd of 3-4 people and next to them a man lies in the snow. They didn’t stop, they pushed on. Looks like someone had too much to drink or something. But why does he lie here, in Kazachy, and not on the shore? Unclear. Nevermind.

For 20-30 kilometers the road was still bearable. The drone periodically checked its brakes. After 20 km, thick snow began to fall (it looked like it was wet). And by the time we left for the Volgodonsk highway, it was already outright raining and it had become noticeably warmer. That is, the rain no longer froze. During this time, Valera called and reported that before his eyes, 2 cars flew off the road. Slippery says sho fucked up. Their speed is 30-40 kilometers. The drone, not far from Usman, once again slowed down, and concluded that it was time to move to 2 bridges. The road really is like glass. We're heading out onto the highway. The flow speed is about 50 km/h. There are very few daredevils who dare to overtake. We see how they are trying to pull out the seven, which flew into oncoming traffic and flew away behind it. Well, I quietly and peacefully walked with the whole stream. It took a long time to travel, but we remained safe. Next is M4. The M4 turned out to be broken, and there was muddy snow on the road. The highway was opened and an endless wall of cars was heading south. We wedge in and move on. Red Garden. At the junction on the rise there are 3 trucks. Polishing the ice. One hit some kind of UAZ. We drive further through the wilds, where one can only dream of a sand machine. The truck stands on a rocky spot and polishes the ice. Further on, on one bridge over some kind of ditch - 99 is pulled out of the curb in the oncoming traffic. Well, at least it didn’t fly far. Upon arrival at the transfer base, I discover a 4-5mm layer of ice on my iron horse. It takes me a long time to peel off at least the glass, and then I’m on my way home. On an empty stretch of road I try the brakes. The studless rear axle skids almost immediately. That is, drive too hard. The quieter you go, the further you'll get. And so, at a speed of 50-60 km/h on an empty road, slowing down to 30 when approaching cars, I got home safe and sound.

Well, what about fishing? The result was 5-6 perches for me. Caught in three holes. David caught it best. His number reached 15-20 pieces. But not large ones. He pulled out a maximum of 6 pieces from the hole. One of us couldn't get away from zero today. But all the same, the fish did not sadden this trip at all... the first long-awaited trip to the ice this season!

On which the Veselovskoe reservoir is located. It was built in 1941. The reservoir occupies a fairly vast area - 283 square kilometers. The average depth of the reservoir is from four to five meters. In some places there are depressions where the depth reaches 9 m and hills where the depth is no more than one meter. From Rostov-on-Don the reservoir is located 65 kilometers towards the southeast. It stretches from the village of Vesely to Manychstroy, covering part of the Rostov region - from the Salsk steppes to Kalmykia. Parallel to each other are the Proletarskoye and Ust-Manychskoye reservoirs, between which the Veselovskoye reservoir passes. And today we will talk about exciting fishing on the Veselovsky reservoir in 2017.

Because of big size In a reservoir, waves are formed in strong winds. They crash on the banks, grinding them down. Over the years, the shoreline of the reservoir has become very intermittent. Its edges often collapse and therefore pose a danger to tourists. In order to prevent a massive collapse of the earth, the edges of the bank were planted with bushes in order to strengthen the soil.

What kind of fish can you catch?

Objects of interest for a fisherman in this reservoir may be silver crucian carp (locals call it a hybrid) - it lives throughout the entire territory of the reservoir and, moreover, in large numbers. Roach, rudd, ram, which are excellently caught at any time of the year. Also bream with small fish, bream. White bream, fisherman - not very common, but not too rare either.
There is a lot in the pond small fish. It helps increase the population of large predatory species: catfish, pike perch, and perch.

In recent years there have been changes in the pike population. It has decreased significantly. This is all due to the herds of silver carp and grass carp that eat up the vegetation, at the same time devastating the pike spawning grounds. Fans of lure fishing also contributed to this. Schools of other fish eat the laid pike eggs, and fishermen catch them, so it is not surprising that there are so few pike in the Veselovsky Reservoir.

Well, everything else is the same as everywhere else. Fishing catch, industrial catch by trawls, and systematic fishing using kilometer-long nets, regardless of seasonal restrictions - all this affects the total number of fish in the reservoir.

Choosing a fishing spot

The most best places Where you can fish is in channels, creeks, creeks and reeds. You can fish on the shore or on a boat; there are no restrictions at any time. Many fish in the shallows only with a different bait. They are caught with poppers, wobblers, and silicone fish with a double hook. If you decide to go out on a boat, then a motor boat is not suitable, because algae will often get wrapped around the propeller. The best option will become a rowing boat.

The deepest places with the most fish are located in the area of the dam, but fishing near it is prohibited. In the northern part of the coast there are many depth differences, where predatory pike perch and schools of white fish are found. To detect such depressions, you can use an echo sounder. Pike perch is caught with a jig using weights up to 16g. For a medium-sized predator, non-clinging offset hooks No. 4 are used. Silicone ribbed ones are chosen as attachments for these hooks. bait of three inches from manufacturers YUM and RELAX. For catching big fish with a jig, a tackle with a multiplier reel is best suited. It will be easier for her to play with the bait and it will be possible to install a thicker fishing line. To fish from a boat, you need a rod at least 2 meters long. The pike perch actively responds to fast retrieval during a double toss of the rod from the bottom of the sinker with a nozzle. The weight of an average pike perch in a catch is 1 kg.

Features of pike fishing

Pike in the reservoir must be caught in the shallows. Pike fishes best in the spring - after March 17 and in late autumn. When fishing with a jig on great depths Often only large fish are found (7-8 kilograms). This is due to the fact that pike sticks to schools of white fish, which are abundant at depth.

Features of perch fishing

The perch in the Veselovsky Reservoir is of considerable size; it is caught with perch gear with a meter-sized lead tied like for pike with a load of 25 grams. A twister is perfect for the role of tackle. It is worth fishing with a slow retrieve with a sharp toss of the sinker. Trophy-sized perch usually hides in dense grass and to lure it out you need to put pressure on it weakness- craving for fleshy silicone worms.

Catching white fish

In addition to jigging good catch bring: spinning rods, fishing rods with floats, feeders, pickers and donks with baited worms, dough, corn and pearl barley. These tackles are very effective at luring: crucian carp (no more than 1 kg), perch, silver bream, rudd, bream and roach. You can feed: corn cake, eggs, breadcrumbs, peas, vegetable oil. You can even have bread and jam. You should not expect an immediate bite after feeding; it will begin only after an hour. Wobblers and spinners have a good reputation. At night, they lure catfish with a white earthworm. Ram is caught with maggots and bloodworms. About the villages: Vesyoly and Stepnoy Kurgan are described by fishermen as the most catchy ones. There are a lot of ticks in the vicinity of the reservoir and therefore everyone: both fishermen and tourists should protect themselves with sprays and creams to repel ticks.

Winter fishing

In winter, fishing on the Veselovsky Reservoir is still tempting. At this time of year, the main catch of fishermen is ram and perch. It is also not uncommon to catch bream and crucian carp. The latter most often swims in places where the water is warmer. Such places can be found in areas where streams flow into a body of water. In the first days after ice formation, you can catch silver bream with a regular float rod.
It is important not to forget that in winter the weather at the Veselovsky Reservoir is not the most pleasant. Strong cold winds often blow. So it’s better to fish at this time from special tents.

Anglers' reports

Report 1

It was Sunday, the area was hillocks, we were fishing in right side from the bulk. They fed them with millet and top grain. I was biting at the fish all day, but really, very lazily. We caught about 20 tails. We were pleased with the fishing.

Report 2

Fished today in Vesele. It only bitten in the morning for one hour on one unfortunate hole. Afterwards the fish seemed to evaporate. The holes, baited in compliance with all fishing rules, also failed. I tried to find fish all day and the result was zero. Well, at least fresh air I've already inhaled something.

Report 3

We went to Sadkovka on Saturday, set up fishing rods and caught rams. Nothing came across the girders. What about ramming, it was caught well, but very small in size.

Report 4

Recently I visited Vesel with my father. Before starting fishing, we drilled, fed and then started making the first casts. Success on the first try, I got a hybrid.
We continued fishing. And again the catch, again and again. There was no shortage of fish; this was the first time I’ve seen something bite like that in winter. When we caught a whole bag, we decided to call it a day. In general, our catch was as follows: 73 hybrids, 12 underbreams and 5 rams.

Fishing on the Veselovskoye Reservoir 2017 video

As Eastern wisdom says, you cannot enter the same river twice, and there are no two identical fishing trips, especially on the Veselovsky Reservoir. I’ve been here twenty times, and every time it’s all over again. The fishing was successful, sometimes purely for pike, sometimes by picking up the key, we caught perch like from a machine gun, sometimes the pike perch committed atrocities. I also got to play tug-of-war with a catfish. And when the wind was raging, I got to be content with a chub in the adjacent canal.

The reservoir is huge. It’s not difficult to catch a fish, but finding it and understanding it is a completely different matter.

Knowing my weakness for catching trophy perch, I received an offer to go fishing in Veselovsky from my Taganrogzh friend, an avid fisherman to the core Artyom. This season, in the month of May, I already had to visit these parts, performing at the Championship of the Stavropol Territory as part of the Novocherkassk teams,Sport-Fishing,. We performed rather mediocre. But even then I was amazed by the size of the perches that some lucky ones brought to the final weighing.

Like perches, they made an indelible impression on me, and it is clear that Artyom’s offer to hunt specifically for cavity monsters was tempting and desirable for me.

We set out at night. By the time we got to the place, by the time we were puffed up, by the time we had uncovered ourselves, the sun was already high. Yes, we were in no particular hurry, we did everything clearly and confidently, because there was at least 10 hours of fishing ahead.

Having previously discussed our actions, we set out in search of striped armadillos.

The wind is 4 meters per second, the waves are decent. But a good watercraft made it possible to move comfortably around the water area. They decided to look for fish on dumps, at the exit of ravines and near islands. In deep water, even with an echo sounder, this is problematic, since the lion’s share of the reservoir’s topography is an absolutely flat surface, without any anomalies. The predator has no special connection to the area. As a rule, carnivores accompany, like shepherds, constantly migrating flocks of leucorrhoea.

The very first presentation brought us several desired bites, but our trophies, instead of the expected monster perch, were rather weighty Manych crucian carp, which coveted a specific presentation of imitations of aquatic insects.

After catching four crucian carp, and many baits torn from the hook, we changed the place and swam to an area abounding in aquatic vegetation that had already fallen to the bottom. We found a perch. The bite was active in the morning, as expected. Lures in the form of vibrotails and dark-colored twisters worked superbly above the grass.

The size of the perch was standard from 300 to 500 grams.

The water had not yet cooled down, and the fish showed its lively temperament while playing.

When an actively feeding perch was knocked out from a point, it was necessary to use cunning techniques in order to continue fishing without changing the point. Silicone crustaceans, worms and other imitations of aquatic inhabitants, from time to time provoked the fish to bite, which still remained at the point, but did not show much activity Lures equipped with offset hooks on a light 5-gram jig had to be pulled through the grass. There was no other way to catch fish.

Artyom was on a roll. Having dug up some ridiculous (in my opinion) lure imitation of kazara in his arsenal, and even in an acid color, he caught perches one by one. Trying to find something alternative, I was clearly lagging behind.

By noon, the bites became noticeably less frequent. Probably, the perch, having contentedly feasted near the shore, disappeared into the vast expanses of the reservoir. Without further ado, Artyom and I set off in search of it.

Having sailed a couple of kilometers across the water area, Veselki, we noticed on the echo sounder sensor a slight difference in depth. The underwater anomaly was also visible visually. The ripples on the surface of the water in this place were different and stood out against the background of the general excitement. We dropped anchor. We decided to probe this place with a jig. On one of Tyoma’s lines there was a powerful bite, on Bugsy 3.5 inches. Rybina bent his light spinning rod into a donut. I exhausted my tackle and laid out the landing net. The resistance was powerful. The invisible opponent did not want to appear on the surface, he pressed to the bottom, from time to time pulling meters of line from the reel with jerks. It took a long time to tire the fish. Now the connection of the line with fluorocarbon appeared out of the water First, a breaker appeared on the water, then a huge, handsome striped perch came to the surface from the depths and fell on its side. A deft movement of the landing net and he was in the boat. We rejoice. Artyom and I shook hands. The minimum program was completed.

Magnificent, strong, beautiful fish. They smoked in silence. Individuals of this size stay apart, alone, or in schools of 2-3 fish. But fishing the place gave us only a large zander to catch up with. Which coveted the Green beast - that’s how we jokingly called the imitation barnacle, which Artyom taught today.

The sun was setting. You need to swim to the launch site before dark. Otherwise, without a navigator, you can simply get lost in the intricacies of ravines, channels and islands. It didn’t take long to decide to check the place where they had been fishing in the morning. The fish immediately began to respond, but the bite was no match for the morning one, and there were fewer specimens. As we passed the perch, I went out to the grass to feed and zander. We managed to catch a few pieces.

It's time to return to base. There were several more fishing boats at the slip site.

We also landed.

We met and talked. Not everyone was caught properly. Not many managed to pick up the key to the cunning Manych humpback whale.

“Manych is like a woman,” an old fisherman once told me, “he may or may not give you gifts!!!”

Well, let my crazy perch swim and grow. Our paths will cross again.)))

Sincerely. Kostya Trokai.
