“I don’t like Klitschko fights.”

An athlete may be quite famous, but this does not mean that everyone loves him. What about Zabit Samedov? What kind of family did you grow up in?

I am known and respected as an athlete. I believe that I am loved, if this were not so, they would not have told me this. Their love gives me strength to win.

I have lived with my family in Belarus since childhood. But I am a reserved person, I don’t like to talk about my personal life.

- Where do you go most often? In Baku or Belarus? Are you planning to come to Baku for a long time?

In fact, I’m not only here - I often travel to Moscow and Belarus, that is, I’m constantly on the road. Of course, this is my homeland, I would be happy to live here. I have plans for this, and I will probably put them into practice in the near future.

- Usually, athletes forget the number of their fights. Do you remember the exact number of your fights?

I admit that I don’t remember either. There were many of them, more than 100.

In fact, this is my job, and of course I have to earn money. Sport is my income.

- What are Zabit’s achievements over the years?

There are many of them... I learned the secrets of sports and won the love of people.

- How is the fight with the Armenian different?

The main thing is that I won. It's enough.

-Who do you consider your rival?

- What matches did you watch and at what stadiums?

I watched the games in Belarus and Turkey.

- Which of our clubs are you interested in?

Football club "Garabagh".

- You probably know Klitschko. What kind of athlete is he?

Yes, I know him, but we don’t know each other. He's a decent athlete, but I wouldn't say he's strong. I don't like his fights.

- In one of the interviews you said that your mother does not watch your fights...

I don’t watch it live because I get hit too. After all, I don’t always strike, they hit me too.

- Do you have friends among our athletes?

I am not friends with anyone and do not communicate.

- You had a fight with Badr Hari. Wasn't it difficult for you to fight him?

No, he is an athlete like everyone else. We do not have a close relationship with him, but many want our fight to be repeated again and, perhaps, such a fight will take place.

On the eve of February 23, many readers took advantage of the unique opportunity and asked their question to Zabit Samedov. We publish the answers, as well as the names of the winners who will receive special prizes from Zabit.

(Questions from the EMT website)
1. Boris:
Zabit, tell me, what is happiness in your understanding?
And tell me, how do you see yourself after sports and in old age?

ANSWER:
When all my relatives are healthy and when I am calm for them. I plan to stay in the sport, perhaps as a manager. But it’s too early to talk about this, because... my career is in full bloom.

2. Alexander Minsk:
Just answer honestly, Zabit, aren’t you ashamed to box with opponents who are head and shoulders weaker than you (with bags)? Especially in the last battles.

ANSWER:
Athletes of my level do not choose their opponents on their own. This is what tournament organizers and managers do.

3. Pavel:
I would like to see fights with more titled and serious fighters, when can this happen, is anything being prepared in the near future (fight, fights)?

ANSWER:
I hope that I will have many more fights with the strongest fighters in the world. My next fight is on March 23 in Moscow, where champions such as Semmy Schilt, Jerome “Geronimo” Le Banner, Errol Zimmerman are participating. My opponent will be Ali Cenik (Türkiye). This will be a rematch.

4. Sergey:
Is there a possibility of seeing you in the ring against Vitaly Akhramenko, how do you feel about this option and what could prevent the organization of this fight?

ANSWER:
I am a professional and am ready to fight any opponent, including any heavyweight in Belarus. I will be happy to get into the ring and prove that I am better.

5. gas-on:
Downtrodden, personal life is on the sidelines or on show. (referring to Lucy Luschik)

ANSWER:
This question is often asked. She is my best female friend.

6. Frazier:
Zabot, what do you think, if you had stayed to train with Grydin, how would your career have turned out?

ANSWER:
Andrey Sergeevich is a coach with a capital letter. Of course, I would like to have our old team, in which I started competing in K-1. So that Grydin, Piasecki, Lis, and my old sparring partners - we all worked together.

And secondly, who do you consider the strongest heavyweight in Belarus in this moment?
ANSWER:
I would get in the ring with anyone.

7.max:
Zabit, please tell me why you got into MMA? You understand that any wrestler will break you, since wrestlers are the strongest in battles. Thank you.

ANSWER:
Yes, I started competing in MMA because there were no better times in K-1, but now K-1 is coming back and at the moment my manager is negotiating a two-year contract. Now I am not going to compete in MMA. Although after the fight that took place at the Minsk Arena last year, according to MMA rules, I was offered a contract with Strikeforce, but it’s closer to me to compete under the K-1 version.

8. Vitalya Minsk:

Zabit, tell me why you don’t like Armenians?

ANSWER:
I am an Azerbaijani who was born in Georgia, lives in Belarus, performs under the Azerbaijani and Belarusian flags... I think that you cannot “love” or “not love” any nation, you should always judge people only by their actions.

9. Novel:

I'm busy, I have a few questions:

ANSWER:
The most memorable fight was with Ray Sefo, in which I won after two additional rounds.

Favorite fighter?

ANSWER:
Jean-Claude Van Damme's favorite childhood fighter. Now I evaluate fighters from the point of view of professionalism, not emotions.

Personal “corner” where you rest your soul?

ANSWER:
I feel good with my loved ones and close people, but where it is doesn’t matter.

10. Alexey:

Zabit, do you have any plans, or perhaps negotiations are already underway, to compete according to the K-1 rules at some famous tournament? Still, now this sport is going through hard times, but just at a time when Badr Hari left, there is no Alistair Overeem, there is a chance to enter the TOP 10 or TOP 5 in this sport. Our only hope is in you and Vitaly Akhramenko. Good luck in the ring!

ANSWER:
K-1 is coming back and it makes me very happy. There are many tournaments planned, they want to sign a contract with me. In the near future I will participate in the Golden Glory tournament (Moscow).

11. M.D:

Hello Zabit, I have a few questions:
1) Do you envy your colleagues Akhramenko and Bessmertny, who just won international tournament and would you like to take part in it too? Why do you think Akhramenko was chosen and not you in the heavyweight division?

ANSWER:
I feel great in every sense of the word. At the international tournament that you are referring to, unfortunately, there were no fighters of my level. But I am very happy for Akhramenko and Bessmetny and want to congratulate them once again on their well-deserved victory.

2) You're a real party animal, don't you think this behavior isn't helping your career? Typically, athletes lead a very secluded lifestyle.

ANSWER:
I enjoy life in all its manifestations. In addition, I have many friends who do not give me “privacy”.

3) At the moment, unfortunately, you are not often seen in the ring, maybe now you have another job?

ANSWER:
I receive many different offers, and I am very glad that I am now in a position where I can choose and not agree to everything.

12. Andrew:

I am also an athlete, even if not at an international level, like you. Since you have visited many countries, I would be interested to know if there is a place that you have not visited yet but would like to, and where you would like to fight? May I ask in which country have you seen the most beautiful girls? And in general, where did you meet the girl who won your heart?

ANSWER:
I like to travel. It's good that I have a job that allows me to do this. Although, go just to relax in different countries I like it too. If we talk about the place where to fight, then I don’t care - it’s just my job.
I believe that any girl is decorated with kindness and modesty.

(Question from mail)

Pawel
Hello!
I also have a couple of questions:
1) you are a very brave man, but what are you afraid of? Have you ever been very afraid of anything in your life?

ANSWER:
The main thing is to remain with a clear conscience, then there will be nothing to be afraid of.

2) If you could turn back time, what would you change (what decisions, what behavior, have you ever talked about someone the wrong way...?)?

ANSWER:
Like any person, I sometimes make mistakes. If I did something wrong, I always tried to find the strength to admit it.

3) If you could only choose three adjectives to describe yourself, what would they be and why?

ANSWER:
I find it difficult to answer this question.

Vasily Vasilov
Salam al leikum Zabit. Recently you can be seen less and less often at large arenas, what is the reason for this? I remember the case of Klitschko’s older brother, when after numerous injuries he announced his retirement, but soon returned in better shape than ever. Isn't this similar to your situation? And also, on the Internet you are increasingly being compared to the young champion and rising UFC star Jon Jones, what can you say about this? (Amir)

ANSWER:
I've been performing for 12 years now professional ring. Some years there were more fights, some years less. There were no serious injuries. I'm in great shape now and ready to work for a few more years.
All I can say about Jon Jones is that he is a great fighter.

Hello Zabit, buddy!
Please tell us, Zabit - a beginner fighter and fighter, K-1 star Zabit “Mowgli” Samedov: it seems like a little time has passed between these images, but what changes have occurred in you as a person during this time?, how did you look at life then, and how do you look now?!
Has anything changed in your character?, if so, what?!
Thank you! I press 5!, hugs!

Beaten, when you look at a girl, what's the first thing that catches your eye (honestly!)? What kind of girls do you like (character and appearance)? What is beauty according to you?
Kristina

All women are beautiful, especially when they are happy. In general, all the girls catch my eye, and I can’t do anything about it.
But I really like kind, cheerful and well-groomed girls.

Frank interview with Zabit Samedov. About how foreigners use anabolic steroids, uncensored details of their personal lives, funny stories related to journalists.

“There are only a few fighters who do not dope. I'm one of them."

- Zabit, do you dope? If yes, what drugs? Which K-1 fighter is on doping?

Zabit Samedov: Almost all Dutch people are on doping. In the Golden Glory club, for example, this is a targeted policy. They shoot and fight as if nothing had happened. That’s why they often go into the ring so “brutalized.” Think for yourself, how could Badr Hari become so physically stronger in two years? It's just a rock.

Ruslan Karaev trained in Holland and said that the same Zimmerman openly “injects himself” and only after that goes to training. Look what an “elephant” Zimmerman has become in two years. But almost all Dutch people undergo medical checks. How? They consume “super-sophisticated” pharmaceuticals and undergo a very expensive three-month course. That’s why they are so huge and “brutal.”

Remember how Badr Hari fought in the finals last year! And how a month later he lost by knockout to Alistair Overeem. I think that the doping for the fight with Overeem stopped working, Badr was “released”.

And I am that rare athlete who does not dope. At least a few years ago, a rumor spread that after the Grand Prix in Las Vegas, doctors discovered tiny traces of anabolic steroids in my blood. The conflict was completely resolved. But I still can’t understand what happened. I arrived in Las Vegas, it was 45 degrees hot, so they turned on the air conditioning in the car, and I got sick. Before the fights, they gave me some kind of energy drink to drink. Before the Grand Prix I received a serious injury to my elbow, which was treated for pain. Maybe the doctors got it wrong... Think for yourself, I weighed only 88 kg. What kind of doping are we talking about?

Do you know why I am perhaps the lightest fighter in the world K-1? Because I don’t inject myself with anabolic steroids. . I professional sportsman, but I don’t even take vitamins. I'm lazy in these matters. We don’t have the money or sponsors to take the same three-month “Dutch” course. There are also no competent specialists who could monitor the administration of these drugs. Therefore, we have to fight in obviously unequal conditions.

“Badr Hari knows that I am not broken and I want to meet him again”

- Zabot, what are your plans for the future? Will you continue to compete in heavyweights or will you try your hand at lifting up to 100kg? And how can one explain such an unsuccessful performance against Badr Hari? Difference in level, size, experience or something else?

Zabit Samedov: I'm upset because I came out to win or at least show a great fight. I was in a great mood. Everything was going well and... I just didn’t see that blow, there was a clear hit in the solar plexus. Before this I had missed absolutely nothing, I was starting to feel like I could do something. Badr came out to “dry” my leg. I hit a high kick to the head, he threw it towards the support. That’s why I fell on my butt, but the blows were absolutely harmless, I assure you. Moreover, I felt that I was about to hit it. It seemed that the attack with hands was about to happen... And that damn unexpected right to the body. I think in next year we will meet Badr Hari. It will be good if this happens in the K-1 finals. I myself am ready to choose him as my first opponent. Badr knows that I was not broken and that he was somehow lucky then. I would like to add that Badr is a worthy person and a smart fighter in tactical terms. The public often perceives him as different.

I hope I've made things clear.

Zabit Samedov and Badr Hari

- Zabit, how long does it take you to fully restore your strength and health after the next Grand Prix?

Zabit Samedov: After the tournament I can still dance all night in the club. Two or three days and I’m recovering. Sometimes I need a week or two to think about life and renew my moral strength.

- Zabit, in Amsterdam and Las Vegas you showed excellent fights. Why then did you start to work worse?

Zabit Samedov: I moved up, and the opponents were more difficult. I have become more experienced and my level has also risen. Your opinion is that I have become worse. I think that I have become more experienced.

Siarhiej: Scored, the weight of your opponents is 100, 110, 120, 130 kg. They are also taller. It's not fair. It is impossible to fight such people. That’s why K-1 is losing popularity - there are no adequate weight categories. What do you think about this?

Zabit Samedov: When I watch the fights of other athletes, my mouth opens. But if I get into the ring myself, the excessive excitement disappears. I remember playing K-1 on the Sony-3 console. He chose Ray Safo as his fighter. And I thought to myself - is it possible to resist such outstanding people? And just a few years later he defeated Sefo himself. I try not to think about the fact that they are huge and that they dope. I use “game” tactics: I avoid blows and try to respond sharply. And they, the “gromozeks,” come out and often gnaw at each other like dogs. I have a different tactic, and fighting with the Gromozeks is very interesting. I'll also tell you a secret - mine normal weight 86 kg. Now I weigh 90 kg. I have to eat five times a day :)

Zabit Samedov vs. Ray Sefo

Personal life

- Zabit, you are engaged, is it true? Why do you sometimes “take a walk”? Isn't your fiancee jealous? Have you ever been in love?

Zabit Samedov: Regarding “have I ever been in love” - this is very personal. I'm actually engaged. This happened six months ago. My fiancee lives in Moscow. Before I got engaged, I was actually able to go out quite a bit. But after that it stopped.

- Is it true that you are dating TV presenter Lyusya Lushchik?

Zabit Samedov: Everyone asks this question. It's time to dot the i's. Lyusya Lushchik and I are friends. Moreover, she is my best female friend. We see each other all the time and keep in touch. I know everything that happens in her life, and she knows everything that happens in mine. Regarding other dirty rumors... I don’t think that the girls with whom I once had relationships think badly of me. I call almost everyone and ask how life is. I really have a lot of girlfriends. If I took a photo with someone in an embrace, this does not mean that I ended up in bed with this person. I’m just a “party animal”, I communicate with many people, and evil tongues spread all sorts of slander.

- Do you only like girls or guys too?

Zabit Samedov: The question is simply crazy! I am a pure heterosexual. And with guys I just like to fight in the ring.
