All-Russian taekwondo competition. Plan for holding taekwondo competitions. Mixed competition system

Taekwondo- it's Korean martial arts, which is characterized by the active use of legs, both for strikes and blocks

When holding taekwondo competitions, various systems can be used to determine the winner and subsequent placings of participants: a round-robin system, in which each of the athletes in turn meets all his opponents, a system with elimination after the first defeat, or, as it is often called, the Olympic system, and , finally, a system with elimination and additional fights.

Types of competitions

Each of the systems has its own merits and advantages, and therefore it would be completely wrong to say unequivocally that one of the listed systems is the best and only it should be used during competitions.

Depending on the level of preparedness of the participants, their number in each weight category, the time allotted for the competition, and the tasks that are set for these competitions, the organizers can choose the most suitable system and announce this in advance in the Competition Regulations.

Behind last years at the most important competitions, such as the Olympic Games, World and European Championships, it is used system with elimination and additional fights, which allows you to fairly objectively and accurately determine the winners.

The advantages of this system include its dynamism. The system allows you to hold competitions for 64 participants on one court within 7-8 hours.

System with elimination and additional fights

Individual competitions

Participants in each weight category are divided into two subgroups—"A" and "B". The wrestler's serial number is determined by drawing lots and remains with him for the entire duration of the competition. Participants who received odd numbers are included in the table of subgroup “A”, and participants with even numbers make up subgroup “B”.

The order of meeting of participants in subgroups is determined by the competition rules, and it is not allowed to change it;

Lots are drawn in the following way. The competition secretary writes the names of all participants on separate pieces of paper and prepares two boxes - for subgroups “A” and “B”. As a rule, the four strongest athletes (last year's champion, silver and bronze medalists) are divided into different subgroups.

The strongest athletes are determined by the competition directors. If several athletes from the same organization participate in the same weight category, they can be distributed in different subgroups, but this is completely optional. Competition managers can decide: to distribute only the strongest athletes into different subgroups or to conduct a general draw, as is done at the European and World Championships.

After all the notes with the names of the participants are distributed into two subgroups, the determination of the serial numbers of the participants begins. The secretary takes out the notes from the box of subgroup "A" and writes the participant's name into the protocol under No. 1. Then takes out the note from the box of subgroup "B" and writes the participant into the protocol under No. 2. During the drawing process, all participants receive their serial numbers, under which they are entered into the protocol.

Depending on the number of participants in the weight category, a table of competition rules is used if there are 8, 16 or 32 participants. Participants who do not receive pairs automatically move to the next stage (round) of the competition. Moreover, the athlete who has a lower number and is called to the court first puts on a blue vest, and his opponent wears a red vest.

During competitions, participants are called to the court in the order in which they are recorded in the protocol. The first pair of athletes of subgroup “A” begins the competition, then, after the end of the performance of all pairs of this subgroup, the pair of subgroup “B” is called onto the court. This procedure must be strictly observed.

When holding a competition on two courts, the organizers of the competition can schedule matches for athletes of subgroups on different courts, but the order in which pairs enter the court in each subgroup does not change.

The winning athlete advances to the next round of competition and meets with the next opponent in accordance with the competition protocol. This continues until a winner is determined in each subgroup. These two athletes meet each other in the finals, where they compete for 1st and 2nd places.

Additional matches for 3rd place are held only for athletes who lost to the winners of the subgroups. Moreover, the athlete who lost to the strongest in the subgroup in the first round meets with the athlete who lost to the strongest in the subgroup in the second round. Then the winner of this match meets with the athlete who lost to the strongest in the subgroup in the third round, etc.

Example: 1st place in subgroup “A” was taken by athlete No. 1, and in subgroup “B” by athlete No. 8. These athletes meet each other in the finals and compete for gold and silver medals.

The right to additional competitions for bronze medals in subgroup “A” is given to the athlete number 9, who lost to the winner in the first round. He will face No. 5, who lost to the winner in the second round, and then the winner of that match will fight No. 11, who lost to the winner in the third round.

In subgroup “B”, athletes No. 16, 12 and 2 will take part in additional fights. All of them in various circles lost to the athlete No. 8, who won the subgroup. The winners of additional meetings in subgroups “A” and “B” (in our example, athletes No. 9 and 2) are awarded bronze medals.

When holding personal competitions, another system may also be used, including the holding of additional repechage matches for athletes who lost a quarter to the finalists (see below).

The winners of repechage matches in subgroups "al" and "A2", "b1" and "B2" meet each other to determine the winners of groups "A" and "B".

The winner of Group A faces the loser of Group B in the semi-finals, and the winner of Group B faces the loser of Group A in the semi-finals.

Those who win their repechage matches take 3rd place, the losers take 5th-6th place.

Team competition

IN team competitions The procedure for drawing lots, conducting preliminary, semi-final and final competitions is no different from the procedure for conducting personal competitions. However, the time of the fight at all stages of the competition does not change; for adult athletes and juniors it is usually set at 3 rounds of 3 minutes, for young men - 3 rounds of 2 minutes.

Meetings between teams are held in order of weight categories, starting with lightweight.

7 athletes take part in the team match (one in each weight category). However, the Competition Regulations may stipulate in advance that a team may have reserve participants in each weight category. In this case, all reserve participants, along with the main participants, must undergo weigh-in. For any regular match, the team leader is given the right to nominate any athlete, but there cannot be a second substitution.

When determining the winner of a team match, judges must first count the number of victories achieved by team members, regardless of their quality.

Individual-team competitions

As a rule, most all-Russian competitions are held as individual-team competitions, in which individual and team places are determined. In such competitions, team places are determined depending on the personal results of the participants included in the scoring team. The Competition Regulations define the system of awarding points for the personal places of participants. Points can be awarded either ascending or descending. For example: for the 1st 1 point, for the 2nd 2 points, etc.; or for 1st 7 points, for 2nd 5 points, for 3rd - 4th places 3.5 points, for 5th - 6th 1.5 points, for 7th - 8th 1 point.

Team places are determined based on the lowest (highest) amount of points ultimately scored by the team. If two or more teams have equal points, the team with the greater number of first, second, etc. places gets an advantage. When determining team championship It should also be noted that participants disqualified for any reason will not receive personal placings.

The competition regulations must also stipulate the number of qualifying and non-qualifying participants. Places taken by non-qualified participants do not count towards the team competition. With a large number of participants, it is sometimes advisable to organize competitions in such a way that in different subgroups there are qualifying and non-qualifying participants, and only in the semi-finals and finals are both combined. With such a system, the impact of the results of non-credit participants on the team standings is minimized.

Round-robin competition system

Most major international competitions - the European Championships, the World Championships and the Olympic Games - have for many years been held using the knockout system with additional fights, or, as it is now called, the “improved Brazilian system”. It is quite natural that this system is used at all all-Russian competitions. Top athletes countries must compete under the same conditions as in the international arena.

But we should not forget about the round-robin system of competitions. It is especially good in individual and team competitions with a small number of participants, and should not be abandoned completely. Let us dwell very briefly on the organization of round-robin competitions.

Individual competitions

All competitors in a weight category meet each other in one group.

When making pairs of the first circle, numbers are written according to the number of participants in the form of two columns: the first number in the left column at the top, the second in the right column at the top, and under it the serial numbers 3, 4, 5, etc. are written sequentially in an amount equal to half all participants: the continuation is transferred to the left column in order from bottom to top.

If there is an odd number of participants, an “O” is added after the last number (to get an even number of participants). Numbers that are opposite each other meet each other.

To make pairs of the second and subsequent circles, the numbers are moved: the first number remains in its place, and the rest are rearranged counterclockwise by one place in each subsequent circle. In each circle, the participant facing “O” is free.

In the competition protocol, the results of the fights are recorded in the appropriate columns; in the case of victory, one is placed in the numerator, and the score is written in the denominator, showing the quality of the victory.

When determining the places of participants, first of all, the number of fights won is calculated, and in case of equality, points for victories won. In our example, athletes A and B each have three victories, but 1st place is awarded to athlete A, who has more points for his victories.

Athletes B and D have the same number of victories and points. In accordance with the rules more high place awarded to Athlete B who wins the mutual match. If several athletes have the same number of victories and points, places between them are distributed according to the greatest number of victories in mutual meetings.

In case of further equality the best place determined sequentially by:

  1. more victories;
  2. personal victories;
  3. according to the score in fights;

As soon as, based on one of the points listed above, it is possible to determine the place of one of the athletes (best or worst), the places of the rest are determined on the basis of victories in mutual meetings, etc. If a participant withdraws from the competition due to illness, having completed 50% of the fights and Moreover, he is awarded a place in such a way that in all the missed fights he lost cleanly to his opponents. The participant who did not complete 50% of the fights and dropped out due to illness will not be assigned a place, and the results of the fights he has completed will be cancelled.

Team competition

The result of a match between two teams is determined in the same way as in a knockout system. A win in a team match as a whole gives the team 1 point, a loss 0. If the match ends in a draw, both teams receive 0 points.

The team that scores the most points at the end of all matches takes 1st place, the team with the next most points takes 2nd place, etc.

If two teams have equal points, the winner of the match between them takes the best place. If this match is a draw, the victory is awarded to the team with the most wins in individual matches, and so on.

If several teams score the same amount of points, advantage is given to the team with the highest score. more wins in mutual meetings.

It may happen that three teams with an equal amount of points have a victory in meetings between themselves. Then the winner is determined by the highest sum of individual points in mutual meetings.

Mixed competition system

1. According to this system, preliminary competitions in subgroups are held in a round-robin manner, and then, after determining the winners in the subgroups, in a method with elimination and repechage matches.

2. Depending on the number, participants are divided into 2, 4 or 8 subgroups.

3. When dividing participants into subgroups, the strongest athletes are distributed into subgroups in such a way that they can meet only in the final.

4. When participants are divided into 4 subgroups, the winners of the subgroups advance to the semifinals. The winners of the semi-finals advance to the finals, where they compete for 1st and 2nd places, and the losers are awarded 3rd places.

5. When participants are divided into 2 subgroups, the winners advance to the finals, and the participants who take 2nd place in the subgroups are awarded 3rd place in the weight category.

6. If there are less than six participants, they fight in one subgroup. Individual places are determined according to the competition rules. In this case, only one 3rd place will be awarded.

7. The places of participants in the subgroup are determined as follows:

  • the winner is the athlete who has the most victories;
  • in case of an equal number of victories, advantage is given to the athlete who won the mutual match;
  • If three or more athletes have an equal number of victories, the winner is the athlete who has the greatest number of victories in mutual matches. In the event of an equal number of mutual victories, the advantage remains with the athlete who scored the most points in mutual meetings.

If these indicators are equal, the sum of points scored in all fights in the subgroup is calculated.

In case of further equality, advantage is given to the athlete who weighs less at the official weigh-in;

  • Once the place of one of the participants is determined (1st, 2nd or 3rd), the remaining places are distributed in the order specified in this paragraph.

8. The places of participants in the mixed competition system are determined as follows:

1st place—winner of the final.

2nd place—loser in the final.

3rd place - winners of repechage matches.

5th-6th places—losers of repechage matches.

7th-8th places—participants included in the top 8.

9th place—the participant who took 2nd place in the subgroup where the champion fought.

10th place—the participant who took 2nd place in the subgroup where the athlete who lost in the final fought.

11-12th places—participants who took 2nd place in the subgroups where the winners of the repechage matches competed.

13th-16th places—participants who took 2nd place in other subgroups.

If necessary, the remaining places of participants are determined using the same principle. The procedure for determining places remains the same when dividing participants into 4 and 2 subgroups. In this case, the 3rd, 4th and 5th places in the subgroups are taken into account sequentially.
