19.01 In play-off and knockout matches in the final tournament, if there is no winner at the end of regulation time, two 15-minute halves of extra time are played. There is a 5 minute break between the end of regular time and the start of extra time. At the discretion of the referee, players remain on the playing field during this 5 minute break. If there is no winner after extra time, a penalty shootout is mandatory.

19.02 Penalty shootouts are decided in accordance with the procedure set out in the IFAB Laws of the Game.

19.03 The referee decides which goal the penalty shootout will go into:
a. For reasons of safety, field conditions, lighting or other similar reasons, the referee may choose which goal the penalty shoot-out will take place without drawing lots. In this case, he is not required to justify the decision, which is final.
b. If he considers that any goal can be used for a penalty, in the presence of two captains, he decides to draw coins to determine the goal.

19.04 To ensure strict adherence to procedure, the referee has his assistants, who also record the players of each team taking the penalty shootout.

Regulations of the UEFA European Football Championship 2014-16

The World Cup has started in France. From June 10 to July 10, 51 matches will be played in ten different stadiums across the country.

Matches will be played at 10 largest stadiums countries: Stade de France (Saint-Denis), Velodrome (Marseille), Lumiere (Lyon), Parc des Princes (Paris), Pierre Mauroy (Villeneuve-d'Ascq), Bollar-Delelis (Lens), Matmu Atlantic (Bordeaux) , Geoffroy Guichard (Saint-Etienne), Toulouse Stadium (Toulouse), Allianz Riviera (Nice).

The tournament logo was designed by Brandia Central. The Henri Delon Cup is graphically depicted against the background of the French flag. Based on the voting results, the mascot was chosen as the brown-haired Super-Victor - a football character with number 16, dressed in a red, white and blue uniform.

They didn’t forget about the design of the game’s main tool. Back in November 2015 famous football player Zinedine Zidane proposed a design for the official ball of the tournament, after which Adidas began developing the balls.

The official anthem was prepared for the FIFA World Cup. In May 2016, it became known that the song performed by David Guetta and Sarah Larsson is This One’s for You.

The World Cup has a common motto - Rendezvous. Each team also came up with its own motto, which identifies the mood of the country in different ways, but has one meaning - the desire to win.

The football life of fans has become the main topic of all the news - events are unfolding rapidly and are stunning in their aggressiveness.

The country still maintains the highest security measures, so more than 90,000 military and police personnel, as well as representatives of private security services, were sent to the championship. There are about 13,000 employees in the capital alone.

On the eve of the first match, riots began. From June 9 to 10, the British distinguished themselves by staging a real riot with overturning cars and provocative cries about a terrorist group banned in the Russian Federation. It all ended with the dispersal of the hooligans using tear gas.

The next day, June 11, English fans fought with Marseille fans; 100-150 people took part in the fight. The riot police won, as expected.

From June 10 to 11, the British attacked Russian fans, the outcome of events was the same - police, gas, dispersal.

If on the morning of the 11th the situation was considered stable, but after lunch the British threw bottles at the Russian fan bus. Before the start of the match, the local police had to take a water cannon, cool it down and disperse the raging fans.

In the evening, in the port of Marseille, 150-200 Russian hooligans and several thousand English fans staged six local fights, during which several Russians were injured, significant damage was inflicted on the British: two of them received life-threatening injuries, four were hospitalized, six were detained. The total number of victims is 35 people.

UEFA opened a disciplinary case against the Russian Football Union following the match. During the Russia-England match, racist chants were recorded in the match delegate's report, which added another point to the disciplinary case. Fans Russian Federation accused of rioting, racism, use of pyrotechnics.

At 23:00 in Nice, riots began between fans of Poland and Ireland. About 30 Poles began firing bottles at the Northern Irishmen, who responded in kind, but on the day of the match the fans of both sides behaved amicably, so this incident was considered an accident.

The police have become harsher towards hooligans; the most violent ones are sent to jail. During the Croatia-Turkey match, this time the French stood out - there was a complete attack on the Turks. 20 people were put behind bars.

On the evening of June 12, UEFA warned England and Russia about the imposition of sanctions, including possible disqualification of national teams from the World Cup, if the situation among fans does not change dramatically. Due to aggressive behavior, the sale of alcohol in the fan zone, as well as in places where fans gather, was prohibited.

In the evening of the same day, in the suburbs of Paris - Lille, a brawl broke out between Germans and Ukrainians. About 30 German fans attacked the Ukrainians and began to tear Ukrainian flags. There were no casualties, the police quickly neutralized the conflict, and one German fan was detained.

Today, June 13, local Parisian police came to check the hotel where representatives were located All-Russian Association fans. A search was carried out, all documents were copied, portrait photographs were taken.

This coming Sunday a match between Turkey and Croatia will take place in Paris. To avoid brawls, an additional 1,500 law enforcement officers were sent to the capital. Particular attention is paid to the areas surrounding the Parc des Princes stadium. The fans are also being monitored. A decision has been made to increase the number of stewards inside the stadium to carry out more thorough screening of football fans.

The European Football Championship (until 1968 called the European Nations Cup) is the main tournament among national teams of the old world, which has been held under the auspices of UEFA since 1960. The competition was founded by Henri Delaunay, and the first European champion was the USSR team.

European Football Championship: The Winners' Path

Like the World Championship, the European Championship is held every 4 years. Throughout its history, the rules of the final part of the tournament have been changed several times. To a greater extent, this concerned the number of participating teams. UEFA is trying to make the competition more interesting and popular, and last championship Europe 2016, the organization decided to increase the number of national teams to 24 teams.

To get to the final part of the tournament, European teams undergo qualification. The choice of the country in which the cup will be held is determined by lot. In 2000, 2008 and 2012, the championship was hosted by two countries, but then there were only 16 participating teams.

The last European Championship was held in France, and in 2020 the tournament is planned to be held in 13 European countries, since in 2020 the championship will celebrate its 60th anniversary.

  • After the terrorist attacks on November 13, 2015 during football matches and the crash of an A320 plane taking off from Charles de Gaulle airport, France remains a dangerous country for tourism. According to forecasts, Russia should reach the ⅛ finals and, perhaps, even get into the ¼.

According to the FIFA national teams ranking, Russia ranks 24th. Two out of three rivals are higher than Russia on this list. But nevertheless, bookmakers predict Russia to take second place in its group. Some write about the special team spirit of the Russian team, the ability to interact, to pass a timely pass to a more experienced and well-placed team member. These qualities can become key and turn the results of the championship in our favor.
