International war games schedule. Winter World War Games in Sochi. Sports of winter military sports games

BIATHLON

The name of the sports discipline comes from two Latin words “double” and “wrestling”, so biathlon was originally called modern winter combined. Includes cross-country skiing and rifle shooting at multiple shooting ranges.

The first race, vaguely reminiscent of biathlon, was organized by border guards on the Swedish-Norwegian border back in 1767. In the 19th century in Norway, biathlon emerged as a sport for soldiers. The ancestor of modern biathlon, the military patrol competition, was introduced at the Olympic Games in 1924, 1928, 1936 and 1948.

As part of the III Winter Military World Games, competitions will be held in the following events: sprint (7.5 km for women, 10 km for men), mixed relay (6 km for women and 7.5 km for men) and patrol race (15 km for women, 20 km for men).

Patrol Race- a modern type of competition in military patrols (a race that is the ancestor of biathlon). This is a race with a distance of 20 km for men and 15 km for women, with three shooting stages. Each participating country can enter two patrols (male and female).

The team consists of four athletes - biathletes and skiers. One of the team members is the patrol leader, three are patrol members, each of whom fires from a prone position and fires one shot at the center of his installation. In case of misses - penalty loops according to the number of team misses according to IBU rules.

Sprint– a type of biathlon race of 10 km for men and 7.5 km for women with two shooting ranges. Biathletes start at intervals of 30 seconds. After the first round, shooting is done from a prone position, after the second - standing. Biathletes themselves choose firing positions at the shooting range for shooting. For each miss there is a penalty loop of 150 m.

Mixed relay- team competition in biathlon. The team consists of four athletes (two women and two men). Each biathlete goes through one stage, which is 6 km for women and 7.5 km for men, with two shooting ranges.

One representative from each country starts at the same time and, having completed their stage, passes the baton to the next biathlete from their team. Women complete their distances first, then men. At each stage there are two shootings: the first is lying down, the second is standing. The athlete has three spare cartridges for each shooting session. If a biathlete runs out of spare cartridges, then for each subsequent miss a penalty loop of 150 m is provided.

From February 22 to 28, 2017, the Military World Games were held in Russia for the first time in the history of the International Military Sports Council. The city of Sochi was chosen as the venue for the Third Winter Military World Games, where sports facilities created for the 2014 Olympic Games made it possible to hold competitions in seven winter sports.

We plan to hold a military ritual in in the form of the Russian delegation laying wreaths at the monument, and the ambassador of the Military World Games will light the fire, which will be transferred to Sochi."

Also, symbolic lights will be lit in five military districts of Russia: in Kamchatka, in the Northern Fleet in Murmansk, in the North Caucasus on the top of Elbrus, in Central Russia and in the Far East. Game history

The Military World Games are competitions in various sports for military athletes, organized by the International Military Sports Council in 1995. Initially, they were held every four years only in the summer - a year before the Olympic Games. In 2010, the International Military Sports Council also organized the Winter Military World Games.

The International Council for Military Sports (CISM - Conseil International du Sport Militaire), founded by five European countries in February 1948 - the second largest sports organization after the International Olympic Committee - annually organizes up to 20 competitions and other sporting events, including the Military World Games (summer and winter ), World Cadet Games, World Military Football Cup.

The International Military Sports Council unites 135 participating countries: 42 from Europe, 45 from Africa, 30 from Asia, 18 from America.

Russia joined the International Military Sports Council only in 1991, at the end of the Cold War. Before this, the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact countries, without recognizing the international status of the council, were part of their own organization, the Sports Committee of Friendly Armies (SKDA, 1958) and held competitions every four years, which were called the Spartakiads of Friendly Armies.

On May 10, 1991, at the 46th General Assembly of the Council in Tanzania, Russia became a member of the International Military Sports Council. Since then, Russian military athletes have taken part in the I–VI Summer Military World Sports Games, where they took first team place four times, winning a total of 550 medals (243 gold, 174 silver, 133 bronze).

The first Winter Military World Games were held by the International Military Sports Council from 20–25 March 1995 in the Aosta Valley in northwestern Italy. More than 800 athletes from 43 countries, including Russia, took part in the games. At the first and second Winter World Games, the teams of Italy and France won the team competition. Russia took third place.

In Russia, several competitions have already been held within the framework of CISM: the world championships in modern pentathlon in 1992, in fencing in 1993, in swimming in 1994 and 2001, in orienteering and tennis in 1996, in judo in 1998 and 2005 , in basketball in 2005 and in parachuting in 2006 and 2016. A number of CISM regional championships and the Women's European Military Pentathlon Championships were also organized. In 2000, the European CISM meeting was successfully held in Moscow.

If you want to feel the atmosphere of the Olympics again, admire the skill of many winter sports stars, worry, root for them, and express your emotions - then gather in Sochi in the third ten days of February

8:10 01.02.2017

If you want to feel the atmosphere of the Olympics again, admire the skill of many winter sports stars, worry, root for them, and express your emotions - then gather in Sochi in the third decade of February. In the very arenas where the bright Olympic battle took place three years ago, an equally bright and significant event awaits you - Winter World War Games.

When we, characterizing these competitions, do not spare colors and the corresponding adjectives, the wealth of which the Russian language is famous for, then we do not sin at all against the truth. After all, their main initiator is International Council of Military Sports (CISM) in terms of the number of countries it unites under its auspices, it is one of the elite of international sports organizations headed by the International Olympic Committee.

By their current start (the official opening is scheduled for February 24), the world championships in biathlon, cross-country and alpine skiing, and a number of other Olympic disciplines will have practically ended and, naturally, the attention of specialists and fans will shift to competitions in the Sochi Olympic Park and at the high-altitude bases of Krasnaya Polyana - "Rosa Khutor" and "Laura". Interest in them is also ensured by the important fact that they are held before the next White Olympics 2018, and in the teams of the participating countries there are many future participants or, let’s say, more precisely, applicants to put on the uniform of their national Olympic teams next winter in Korea. It is clear that this fully applies to the hosts of the Games, the Russian army, representing our CSKA team, rich in victorious traditions, and its local units.

In turn, this involves intense and spectacular competition in all seven sports included in the event program, five Olympic - biathlon, alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, short track speed skating, rock climbing (this event was included in the 129th IOC session a year ago program of the Olympic Games - 2020 in Tokyo) as well as in two applied ones - ski mountaineering and ski orienteering. Entertainment, extreme sports - fans of winter disciplines who come to Sochi will plunge into all this. And there will be a lot of them: after all, the season is in full swing, and if we take into account only those who are attracted by the steep snow-covered slopes, then there are thousands of them. This year, the length of the tracks for them has almost doubled; their length today is almost 34 km! Like the most popular winter resorts in the world. And the Sochi Olympics undoubtedly gave an impetus to everything.

Over the few days that the competition will last, more than 1,000 athletes from more than 20 countries will compete for 44 sets of awards. Please note that envoys from army sports clubs and organizations from almost all leading countries that cultivate winter sports (Austria, Germany, Italy, France, etc.) will fly to Sochi, which is not very welcome in a number of international federations (IFs), yes and the IOC, WADA and others like them. After all, they are the initiators of a boycott of international competitions in Russia; the Bobsleigh World Championship, which was openly taken away from us, is one of the unpleasant examples of this. By the way, it’s a pity that the organizers of the Military World Winter Games 2017 did not listen, at least as of today, to the proposal ““ to include bobsleigh (and, possibly, sledding) in the competition program as demonstration events, which, of course, brightened would be an event. Moreover, everything (first of all, the track itself) is prepared at the highest level, for which considerable funds have been spent, and even the second or third numbers (the first will be occupied in the World Championship, it will be held at the same time) would definitely not spoil the porridge...

However, there is still time, and we once again draw the attention of the Organizing Committee of the Games to this, which is headed by the Russian Minister of Defense, Army General Sergei Shoigu, as well as the “main headquarters”, led by the head of CSKA, Colonel Mikhail Baryshev. Let the upcoming holiday of world army sports expand its borders and become even brighter and more memorable. We will also respect those bobsleigh fans who were deprived of the postponement of the world championship, but I’m sure they would gladly, I think, would attend this tournament, because tickets to Sochi have been purchased, and hotels in Krasnaya Polyana have been booked... It’s a long way to go to the German Königssee not everyone has the opportunity.

The World Winter Military Games, unlike the summer ones, which were first held back in 1995, start in 2010. The current ones are the third in a row, Sochi takes the baton from the Italian town of Valle d'Aosta and the French town of Annecy. As at the Olympic Games, the organizers strive to surprise with something, to bring something of their own. Hardly anyone doubted that Sochi 2014 surpassed Vancouver 2010. And now a new feature will be the torch relay, akin to the Olympic one. It will begin simultaneously at several points on the map of our huge country - in the Kaliningrad, Murmansk, Sakhalin, Chelyabinsk regions and Kabardino-Balkaria. Intermediate finish in Moscow, in the Kremlin Palace, February 23, Defender of the Fatherland Day. And the next morning the torch will be transported by plane to Adler airport. Next, the usual route to the finish line in the Olympic Park, at the Ice Cube arena, where the opening of the Games will take place with the ceremonial lighting of the fire. What do you think is the final distance of the relay? Correct: 2017

By the way, a climbing wall will be installed next to the Ice Cube at the Bolshoi Sports Palace. This original structure, comparable to all other objects in the Olympic Park, weighs 60 tons and, with your imagination, you can apply more than a hundred reliefs of varying complexity on it, in a word, for every taste and level of skill. In this case, this level promises to be Olympic, and the upcoming Games are a test of strength, an excellent opportunity to test yourself before the upcoming White Olympics, but why be shy - open the starting page in the biography of the Olympic novelty, and it will happen in Russia! Now the climbing wall is located in Moscow and 15 trucks are being prepared to transport it to Sochi (this will happen in the near future).

...In the difficult situation in which, due to well-known reasons, domestic sport now finds itself, the current World Games, their holding in Russia is for us as an outlet, a lifesaver, a worthy answer to our enemies, of which, unfortunately, there are many. The most zealous (for example, the German Olympic Committee) demand that we be excommunicated from the 2018 Winter Olympics. SIZM is also experiencing corresponding pressure, however - thanks to it - it does not give in to pressure, it stands its ground: Russia firmly occupies its place among the leaders of world sports, naturally, this also applies to the military environment, and no one can shake these positions with various doping threats.

It remains to be regretted that we somehow hastened to disagree with SportAccord, succumbing to emotions and not fully understanding the proposals of his former leader and President of the International Judo Federation Marius Vizer, which he made all in the same Sochi at the 2015 convention. But they concerned the optimization of the management of sports, the Olympic movement, their certain reorganization for the benefit of the cause, and were directed against the absolute dominance of the IOC over them. How we would need such an ally today. And in collaboration with SIZM?..

The III Winter World Military Games were held in Sochi, from February 23 to 27, 2017. This is the first sporting event of this kind in Russia. The initiator of holding the Games at the Olympic venues in Sochi was the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Sergei Shoigu.

On the first day of the competition, 14 sets of medals were played, of which Russian athletes won 11: 6 gold, two silver and three bronze.

Leopard is the symbol of the Games

Leopard is a rare animal that lives on the territory of the Russian Federation. The leopard is one of the smallest subspecies of the cat family and the only one that has learned to live and hunt in the snow. The choice of the leopard as a symbol of the Games is due to the fact that the endurance of this animal and its fighting color characterize the spirit of war games. The leopard symbolizes swiftness of attack, speed of decision-making, power and strength. The image of a leopard is present on the symbols of the armies of some states. In the heraldic tradition, the leopard is a symbol of courage and bravery - qualities traditionally inherent in warriors. The Central Sports Club of the Army also makes its contribution to preserving the leopard population in Russia. CSKA takes care of a leopard named Armeets in the Amur region, tracking its movements using GPS. The Leopard's friends and assistants during the Games will be the Bunny and the Little Fox. Life-size animal puppets will take part in the opening and closing ceremonies and will entertain spectators at competitions. The winners and runners-up of the III Winter Military World Games in Sochi will receive animal figurines as souvenirs during the award ceremony.

Corporate Identity of the Games The corporate identity of the III Winter Military World Games 2017 in Sochi is a fusion of three symbols: the national flag of the Russian Federation, majestic mountains, symbolizing a high level of results, leadership qualities, as well as frosty patterns on glass, as a symbol of the Winter Games. The main element of the corporate identity is the five-pointed star - a symbol of high aspirations and ideals. The color scheme of the corporate identity carries a special meaning. Red represents passion for sports and the will to win. Blue is the color of limitless possibilities and determination. Together, these two colors convey the unity of ice and fire, which reflects the very essence of the vibrant competition of the Games.

The Military World Games in Sochi ended on February 27 with the victory of the Russian team in the team medal event.

The next games will take place in Germany - the representatives of this country were given the flag of the International Military Sports Council.
