About one of the heroines of the popular TV show “Best of All!” in 2016, Varya Gordeeva, a young resident of the village of Molodi, Chekhov district, Moscow region, became the winner. The girl, who turned seven in December, is able to do own body things that seem incredible. Presenter Maxim Galkin joked that Mom was sending Varya to her grandmother by parcel post. And such jokes do not look like an exaggeration - the girl is so flexible and elastic.

Which abilities of Varya Gordeeva are innate, and which are the result of a lot of work? Can any child achieve such amazing flexibility? Correspondent Lucky Child conducted an exclusive interview with the girl’s mother, Ekaterina Gordeeva.

On homeschooling

– Ekaterina, what is more in Varya’s abilities, in your opinion – a natural predisposition to such things physical development or, nevertheless, this is the result of long and hard training?

– Varyusha, absolutely, has natural flexibility. But in order to do complex tricks, natural flexibility alone is not enough. To develop mastery, you need daily training. As in any business.

– At what age and how did you notice this feature in your daughter? When did they start developing it?

“Even before she was a year old, she loved to lie in her crib with her legs spread out in splits. When Varyusha started walking, I began to teach her how to do the splits and do a bridge. But we started training regularly only in December 2015, and within a year Varya learned to fold, tie herself in a knot and bend in both directions. Now we do not stop there and continue to improve our daughter’s abilities.

– Are you working with a professional trainer?

- No, not with the coach. I train myself.

– What methods do you use? Or do you rely more on intuition?

– There is a wealth of video material on the Internet. We work in the rubber genre. (“Rubber” is a genre of circus acrobatics, a demonstration of extraordinary flexibility of the body. – Author’s note).

– Varya, as far as I know, many people call it “rubber girl.” Does your daughter have any pet nickname?

- Eat. Sometimes we jokingly call it Dumpling. This has been going on since childhood.

– How does the girl herself perceive her unusual abilities?

– She likes what she does. Varya is very hardworking and persistent. And, like all children, she loves to be praised. Varya absolutely loves the stage, especially when the audience is full. She also really enjoyed filming the “Best of All!” program. My daughter asks almost every day when we will go again.

- And when will you go?

– We passed the casting for the program “Minute of Glory”, but this season Varya will not be able to take part in it, since, according to the rules of the TV channel, you cannot participate in several of its projects at once. That's what we were told.

– Did she become friends with any of the other children who participated in the program? Does she now communicate with any of those with whom she filmed there?

– During filming, the children all became friends. But, unfortunately, we live very far from each other. Varya became friends with Ruslan Gromov and Daniil Markin. (The first is a young breakdancing luminary, the second is “Spiderman”, a five-year-old fearless climber. – Author’s note).

Showing off is bad

– Varya probably feels like a star? How does the girl perceive the fame that has befallen her?

“She doesn’t feel like a star.” He says that showing off is bad! The falling fame only added to Varya's responsibility. And it increased her ability to work.

- Well done Varya. Regarding ability to work: do you train with it every day? How long does it take to study?

– We train every day – almost without days off. Each training session lasts about four hours.

– Your daughter is visiting some preschool?

– This year she will go to first grade. My children did not go to kindergarten. I study with them at home.

– Varya has an older brother Fyodor, he is ten years old. And not only Varya has such physical talent, but also me. Apparently it was genetically passed on to her.

– Are you an athlete?

- No, I'm an amateur. But in her youth she was folded in half, like Varya. However, she surpassed me. When it comes to sports, our whole family loves leisure. We go hiking with a tent, sail on a boat or kayak. They even went mountain climbing. I taught my son how to operate a boat, and he handles it perfectly on his own.

– I wonder why they named their children that way – Fedor, Varvara? As part of the currently noticeable trend of returning to old Russian names, or is there a different story here?

“My husband just really liked the name Fedor, so they named their son that.” And my daughter - in honor of my great-grandmother, she was very kind. And I liked this name since childhood.

– How did you even get on the program with Maxim Galkin? And what are Varya’s impressions of the presenter?

– Getting onto the program was very simple: we filled out an application form, went through the casting, and we were invited to filming. Maxim Galkin is not only a talented presenter, but also a wonderful, very kind and cheerful person. Varya misses him very much. After all, Maxim gave her a puppy.

– What is the dog’s name, by the way?

– The puppy’s name is Batman, or Bat for short. Very cheerful puppy, loves to misbehave. Varya takes care of him herself.

– Very responsible – I remember. What other qualities characterize a girl? Discipline? Four hours of training a day is no joke.

- Yes, it's all about her. She is also very calm. And not greedy. If Varya is given candy, she will definitely divide it among all family members.

– Was your daughter very worried on the set?

– There was no excitement at all – there was only joy and happiness.

– What goals does Varya set for herself? What does she dream of, who does she want to become?

– Goals... Firstly, she is going to study well. And then - to become an actress and act in films. He also really wants to travel around the world and perform.

– Sports career your daughter is not attracted to you?

- Probably, rather, I don’t want this. The scene is more interesting, in my opinion. And Varya shares my opinion. I don’t force her to do anything, I give her the opportunity to make her own choice.

– What else is Varya interested in?

– He loves animals very much. I even swam on a dolphin at the age of five - and was not afraid. He also loves to draw, sing, and easily remembers poetry. Recently I took first place in a reading competition. We have many competitions ahead, the schedule of events has been drawn up until May. Now we are preparing new numbers, learning poetry and sewing.

– Do you think that Varya’s participation on television, Varya’s popularity, is still something like a game for her, or does she, at her age, take it quite seriously and consider it the beginning of some great path?

“She really began to take her work more seriously, began to train more, independently comes up with new tricks and practices them. Varya perceives her performances as work. Initially, we gave her a gift for each performance. And before the New Year, my daughter was invited to perform at various concerts and was paid money at some of them. Varya bought herself a new suit with this money, and she herself chose and purchased a backpack for school.

– I wonder if you yourself, after such a successful experience with your own daughter, are you thinking about starting to train other children?

“Since childhood, I myself loved geography and knew all the capitals,” explains the girl’s mother, Gohar. “Of course, I wanted my daughter to know them too.” When she turned 3 years old, we began to learn the names of 2 - 3 capitals. She liked it, she remembered it well, did not forget and asked for continuation. She came and said: “Mom, give me something new?” I never forced Sonya... Now we bought her a large map of the world and are teaching her the flags of countries. At home, without tutors. She likes it so much that as soon as Sophia comes from kindergarten, she immediately invites her to play teacher. He stands at the map and asks me for the capitals of states. In the future, we want Sophia to know many languages.

Varvara Gordeeva (7 years old, village of Molodi, Chekhov district, Moscow region)

What this girl does is amazing and frightening at the same time. Take a look at the photo. It's like she has no bones or joints! Varya wriggles like a snake, and with a charming smile on her face.

“Already at one year old, my daughter began to show amazing flexibility,” says Ekaterina, the mother of the “rubber girl.” — She took it and sat on the splits. Moreover, she loved to lie on her back with her legs spread full splits, - that was her entertainment. So we decided to try to develop flexibility. By the age of two, Varya was making a bridge. And at the age of three we were invited to perform a small improvised performance at our local cultural center. They asked for something from acrobatics. And then we got carried away! In three days we learned the wheel, then several more elements. Then they started inviting us to perform at other cultural centers near Moscow. Varya doesn’t have a coach, I train with her myself. Plus we go to free club ballet choreography.

Vlada Marinkevich (11 years old, Moscow)

A beautiful blonde will come to the project with an unusual skill for a girl - she is fluent in artistic whistling.

“Vlada accidentally heard her grandfather whistling at home,” recalls the girl’s mother, Yana. — At the age of 5 she developed an interest in whistling. I tried to follow my grandfather. And she constantly accompanied her activities and games with whistling. Then she started whistling tunes that she heard on the radio. Then we began to improve this skill, the whistle sounded more and more interesting and professional. I posted a video of one of the performances on YouTube, after which they started calling us for castings. We have already attended the “Minute of Fame” in Russia and Ukraine. Everyone liked it - she was such a little girl, she whistled beautifully, not everyone understood where the sound was coming from. We tried to practice vocals, but the doctors did not recommend that we continue - there were problems with the ligaments. Vlada continues to go to music school, but she practices artistic whistling at home, by herself, absolutely free.

Vladimir Tsymbalyuk (12 years old, Zhukovsky)

While our football players have been trying to make it to the playoffs of major world tournaments for decades, Volodya has already become a 3-time world champion in step dance. Vladimir won his first title in Portugal in 2014, and the second and third at the world championship in the German city of Riesa. He was taught to dance at the Benim step studio. The directors, Boris and Natalya Makashov, are former professional dancers.

“Volodya came when he was 5 years old,” recalls Makashov. “He always had perseverance.” He used to be a funny, bandy-legged boy, but hardworking and rhythmic. Literally a year after I started training, I realized that he was different from other children. I began to work with him individually, and he began to win competitions. We try to study five times a week, more during the holidays. Our studio is free. The only thing parents spend money on is special shoes for tap dancing. Shoes can cost from 3 to 6 thousand rubles. There are children's ones for 2 thousand.

The highlight of the program is Sasha Beyleryan (6 years old, Moscow)

The genius boy has perfect pitch and perfect memory. Maybe he is not familiar with the intricacies of grammar, but he perfectly reproduces any song or poem by ear. He reads Hamlet's famous monologue, and not only in Russian. Sings songs in 12 languages. In a word, a prodigy! For a long time, Sasha’s parents did not want to feature him in a popular program, but the editors managed to convince them. They even came up with a special number for him, which we will see on air.
