“The camp for the development of young hockey players is very good idea. The training camp itself in St. Petersburg is going great, the conditions are amazing. I haven’t seen this even in the NHL. Just great!”

A wonderful summer Saturday on the ice 🏒

How is your Saturday? Ours is like this. It's the fifth day at the SKA development camp in Hockey City. The players miss hockey so much that they are ready to take pucks even from their own! Which, in fact, is what they do under the close supervision of trainers.

Work for fresh air 💪🏻

Summer, sun, sand... and WORK! In Hockey City. - fourth day of the Development Camp for young players.
And then, of course, we also worked out on the ice, where would we be without him.

💪 good job.

“SKA-Varyag” conducted an excellent training session to develop strength in our general physical training gym.

✅ Training camps continue, the season is coming!

Every workout is a step forward towards victory. 💪

#SKADevelopmentCamp is ice, gym, and theoretical training.
Work continues! 🏋️‍♂️💪

Legendary Soviet and Russian hockey player Igor Larionov, two-time Olympic champion, a three-time Stanley Cup winner, visited the SKA development camp, which started in St. Petersburg at the Hockey City base.

“I’ll be honest, everything that I see in St. Petersburg is no different from what I saw in Detroit, Los Angeles and Chicago. The most important value of this camp is that it takes place in summer time, because now you can concentrate on the details: fix something, improve something. All this will make the players better. It's only right that we take something good from North America and applied in Russia.

So far, everything I've seen in the hockey city is very cool. Firstly, there is everything for a hockey player’s comfortable work: ice, Gym, various training rooms for general physical training, a medical center. Secondly, the complex is located very close to the arena, which is also very convenient,” Larionov told the Championship.

Children's training camps continue at the #RedMachine Hockey Development Center.
The training focuses on stick and puck handling skills, physical training and individual technique of young athletes.

The second day of children's summer training camp is over.

Our young hockey players did a great job under the strict guidance coaching staff CHR #RedMachine.

At the beginning of July, the site published material about the new base of Yaroslavl Lokomotiv. The newly built complex is so modern and convenient that for the first time in a long time, the “railroad workers” did not go to training camps abroad; this summer they are training at home. However, Yaroslavl is not the only Russian city where such a base has appeared. In February of this year, the multifunctional complex “Hockey City”, built by SKA, opened in St. Petersburg.

The current winners of the Gagarin Cup now have their own base. Until this moment, the club was forced to move between Ledovoy and Yubileiny, rent ice for training, and look for suitable sites for pre-season training camps. Now the Hockey City project has helped unite all the teams of the SKA system in one complex.

It is not difficult to assess the scale of the complex. An impressive territory with a total area of 33,120 square meters is fully equipped not only for hockey, but also simply for a comfortable pastime. By the way, “Hockey City” is located literally a stone’s throw from the Ice Arena, where SKA plays home matches.

Under the roof of the complex there are two ice arenas. One of them is training, its size is 60x30 meters.

The second arena has stands that can accommodate 1,500 spectators. The size of the site is 58x28 meters. It is equipped modern systems game lights, multimedia screen, sound equipment, in general, everything that is necessary for holding a match.

The arena has already undergone a “baptism of fire” - at the KHL playoff matches, the stands turned into a fan zone for SKA fans, and in the summer, work was in full swing on the ice at the Pavel Datsyuk School: the famous forward organized a hockey camp for children here. The arena also hosted real competitions - one of the stages of the Student Hockey League was held in the “Hockey City”. And in the coming season, the youth team “SKA-1946” and the VHL team “SKA-Neva” will play their matches here.

In the near future, a children's and youth center will open on the basis of Hockey City. sport school called "SKA Army". Young players will train on the same ice as Ilya Kovalchuk and Pavel Datsyuk - this is already a sufficient incentive for growth.

The SKA locker room has everything the team needs - a massage room, a kitchen, a laundry room, access to a spa area with steam rooms, a swimming pool, a video room, and, of course, a coaching room.

The basis of the strength and functional training players have become SKILLMILL simulators - this is a functional simulator that allows you to train for power, speed, endurance and agility at the same time.

The martial arts hall helps to diversify the classes. By the way, it is freely available for rent to wrestling and boxing fans.

Universal gym- This is a warm-up area before games and training, and at the same time a space for playing mini-football, volleyball, basketball and tennis.

The complex also has its own hotel with 78 beds. During training camps, SKA system teams are located here. Next to the hotel there is a spa area with a total area of 155 square meters, of which 55 is an aqua zone. There is also a sauna and Turkish steam room.

The open area of the complex includes two tennis courts, a football field with stands, equipped with multimedia equipment, jogging tracks. IN winter time The football ground turns into an outdoor skating rink, which also hosts matches and public skating.

All Hockey City venues are available for rent by both professionals and amateurs. Prices correspond to the average for the city, and the comfort in the complex is at its best. high level. At the same time, “Hockey City” is not a closed base, but a facility quite accessible to citizens sports leisure. And, of course, the home of the SKA teams.

In the "Hockey City" it is planned to open in the near future an equipment center, a hockey museum, a restaurant area and one of the most important components - a hockey development center, where the most modern specialized simulators will be collected for training future hockey stars.

the site thanks the press service of HC SKA for assistance in preparing the material
