Greco-Roman wrestling. Interview with coach A.L. Tarabarin. Martial arts for children: which section should I send my child to, and at what age? Greco Roman wrestling for a 6 year old boy

We continue the series of articles under the general title: “Where to send a child?”

Today we will talk about Greco-Roman wrestling.

Greco-Roman wrestling born in Ancient Greece. Modern look was formed in France at the beginning of the 19th century.

Greco-Roman wrestling is a type of martial arts in which the athlete needs to use special techniques to unbalance his opponent and press him to the mat with his shoulder blades. It has been included in the Olympic Games program since 1896.

Greco-Roman wrestling is very beneficial for a child. It develops in him strength, agility, endurance, respect for people and intelligence.

The benefits of Greco-Roman wrestling for children

In order to overcome an opponent and make a throw, an athlete must have enough strength to do this, therefore power training compulsory in this sport.

But, in addition, in order to overcome an opponent, you need to be able to get out of a difficult situation yourself, so the guys constantly hone their body flexibility, and each of them, even in younger age can make a wheel or a “flyak”, but not every adult can do this.

The training lasts a long time, and in order to withstand the entire load set by the trainer, the athlete must have a certain amount of endurance. Of course, each student is given a load according to his abilities. But over time, these abilities increase and the volume of training increases.

As in any other martial arts, deep respect for the opponent is instilled here. And even at an age when it seems that a child has nothing on his mind except mischief and games, a greeting and a handshake are an integral part of any fight.

And finally, intelligence. There are a huge number of different techniques in Greco-Roman wrestling. And it is possible to understand which one to use at one time or another during a fight only when the athlete has developed logic and thinking. The same applies to moments when it is necessary to avoid an opponent’s throw. Therefore, Greco-Roman wrestling is a very smart type of martial arts, in which not only physics wins, but also skill.

How is wrestling different from other martial arts?

Unlike other types of martial arts, wrestling does not use striking techniques. Wrestling usually takes place in a standing position (literally - in a standing position) and has in its arsenal various throws, hooks and sweeps; and also on the ground, i.e. on your knees or lying down, in which you use painful techniques or, as in judo, suffocating.

There are national types of wrestling, and these include:

  • sumo (Japan);
  • Kokh (Armenia);
  • kurash (Tatarstan);
  • gyurezh (Azeybarjan);
  • beh (Monogoly);
  • and others.

International types include:

  • freestyle wrestling;
  • Greco-Roman wrestling;
  • judo.

These three types are presented on.

Also considered international are the following types of wrestling:

  • Russian (representing a cross between different national types) sambo;
  • Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu;
  • grappling, which appeared in the UAE;
  • and others.

All these types of martial arts are united by the lack of striking techniques. The differences between each other are precisely in the arsenal of throwing techniques, the presence or absence of painful and/or choking techniques, in refereeing, and also in the form of clothing.

For example, in Greco-Roman and freestyle wrestling, participants fight in tights, so they do not have in their arsenal techniques that use throws with clothing grabs. In sambo or judo, on the contrary, most throws are made using grips on jackets or kimonos, as in judo.

How is wrestling useful?

A person involved in wrestling usually pursues many goals.

Target - sports achivments, we will omit victories in the Olympics, because this is the lot of those athletes for whom wrestling is their main activity.

Wrestling, for those who devote themselves to sports to a lesser extent, is useful in many ways: both from the point of view of improving the figure, and from the point of view of strengthening and healing the body.

Fight is great way lose weight, stay fit and have relief figure. Wrestling is an aerobic-anaerobic exercise. That is, on the one hand, endurance, the work of the lungs and heart are trained, and, as a result, overweight are reset, and on the other hand, the load on the muscles significantly strengthens them and improves their relief.

Unlike simple “pulling irons” in the gym, wrestling provides an arsenal of techniques that can be useful to any man, and, indeed, to a woman, to be able to stand up for themselves on the street.

Wrestling helps to significantly improve coordination of movements.

There are a number of prejudices that, they say, wrestling is purely sport's event, and the wrestlers on the street cannot do anything, because they are used to fighting in the gym, where there are a lot of strict rules and restrictions. Well, we can say that these rules exist in any form of martial arts. And the effectiveness of using certain techniques depends not on the type of struggle, but on the ability to use them.

Is it possible to start wrestling as an adult?

Unlike rhythmic gymnastics, where one of the necessary conditions is the young age of the beginning athlete (if the goal is to achieve significant achievements, of course), you can start wrestling at any age. Although, m You can start doing gymnastics at the age of 40, it’s the result. In wrestling, you can achieve results regardless of age. There are even a lot of competitions for veterans, where grandfathers, some of whom are over 80 years old, fight.

However, we must take into account that wrestling still implies a fight in which there are falls and it is often painful. Falls can be hard, and you need to be prepared for this. But no coach will let you fight until you learn to fall. Falling is where any kind of struggle begins. And this is useful not only for combat. It is known that wrestlers fall outside on a slippery road, on ski slope and so on. They almost never get injured, because their falls are practiced to the point of automaticity. Watch the video tutorial on falls at the end of the article.

Therefore, in addition to the arsenal of techniques, physical activity, the advantage of wrestling is the ability to coordinate your body, feel it in space, and always be on the alert.

Fighting technique

Each type of wrestling has its own technique, which comes from the form of clothing (you can grab a jacket or not), shoes (in judo you practice barefoot, and in sambo you wear “wrestling shoes”). But the main thing that unites is different kinds holds, based on the type of wrestling, throws, painful holds - on the arms or legs, as well as choking techniques (chokes are prohibited in sambo, but allowed in judo).

Also, the technical arsenal depends on the judging, since many types of wrestling can overlap with each other, the differences are created precisely by the judging, fines and evaluations of the technique performed.

Greco-Roman wrestling

or classical wrestling is wrestling in tights and tight wrestling shoes, the goal of which is to throw the opponent off balance and put him on his shoulder blades. Unlike sambo or judo, throws are complicated by the fact that they are performed without the use of clothing.

Judo

is a fight in a kimano, on a tatami (hard carpet), when two barefoot opponents compete with each other. Unlike Greco-Roman wrestling, you can win in judo using different methods - both with a clean throw (specially evaluated), and with a painful hold or suffocation. Unlike sambo, leg locks are prohibited in it.

Sambo

It consists of wrestling in shorts, a jacket and so-called special wrestling shoes with soft soles, called sambovkas, on a soft carpet. Judo and sambo overlap a lot. Sometimes you can meet the same people at competitions in these types.

Freestyle wrestling

This wrestling is somewhat similar to Greco-Roman wrestling, but the difference is that it allows leg grabs, sweeps and other active actions using the legs.

Watch a video about wrestling techniques at the bottom of the page.

Stages of basic training

When you start wrestling, the first thing you need to learn how to do is fall. Sometimes it takes up to a month for a person to learn how to fall correctly, only after that can start fully practicing throws.

Almost every workout consists of a warm-up, during which you need to warm up your body so that there are no subsequent injuries.

At the next stage, techniques begin to be practiced depending on the chosen type of fight. Practicing throws, sweeps, coup grabs, etc. In the case of judo, this can also be the so-called “uchikomi” - imitation of approaches to the enemy.

Painful and choking techniques and grips are also practiced. And only at the last stage of training do you fight and try to apply the skills acquired as a result of training.

At the end of each workout there is a mandatory cool-down to “calm down” the body.

The workout itself puts enough stress on the body. Gradually, the body gets used to receiving it, performing techniques becomes easier, movements become faster. To improve results, you can gradually add load to yourself using regular exercise: daily morning exercises, yoga, strength and aerobic training (running, cycling, swimming and even triathlon, combining these three sports). Wrestling for children

Selecting direction and section

In Moscow there are a lot of wrestling sections of all types. Both free and paid. There are a lot of sports schools in which diverse wrestling becomes the priority. It is important to note that wrestling in Russia is the strongest sport, and is put on a very “professional footing”.

There are many schools known even abroad. For example, “Sambo 70” in Teply Stan, “Judo” in Shabolovka, etc.

Some sections can enroll children as young as 3 years old. But there were also cases when, for example, teenagers who started training at the age of 16-17 reached the highest levels international competitions. But it's always better to start earlier.

The benefits of wrestling for boys and girls

If you care not so much about your child’s achievements in a professional sports sense, but rather about his physical and mental development, it is still better to send him to serious sections. This is very useful for boys. And especially useful for aggressive children. It is a mistake to think that children who go to wrestling are more aggressive. Quite the opposite - they “blow off steam” in training, learn to control themselves, because in wrestling, victory is not just a victory of the strongest, it is a tactical victory, which must be approached with intelligence.

In the case of girls, if you are not determined for your daughter to become an international wrestler, you should give her away later, when her figure is more or less formed. Otherwise, one should expect that the girl’s figure will be formed in accordance with the loads received, and is far from feminine.

Trainer for yourself and your child

When choosing a trainer, be guided by the choice of location, but also by the level of his training. Always ask his level - who is he, a master of sports, an international master of sports? Did he win any competitions? If yes, which ones? But even with all this, we must also take into account that there are excellent wrestling masters, but they may not be able to teach it, they cannot explain the basics.

When choosing a coach, you need to ask a lot of questions. This is important because in this way you check the qualifications of the instructor.

A few simple tips:

  1. Trial classes. Many fitness clubs and sections spend either days open doors, or offer trial free classes or classes at a reduced price.
  2. Communication. Ask about the impressions of those who are already training with the trainer you like (this, by the way, also applies choosing a section for a child). Interview three or four people.
  3. Internet. Take some time and look for reviews about the instructor.

We talked about choosing an instructor in the article “ ».

Therefore, always communicate with him first. It also becomes clear from the conversation. Also, if possible, go to the forums of a particular organization where you are going to engage in wrestling, and try to find reviews from living people. Ask people who are training in the locker rooms of the section to see if they are happy with the coach. More often than not, you will get honest answers.

We wrote in detail about choosing a coach for a child in the article “”.

In sports, proper and healthy nutrition plays an important role. After all, you need energy to fully train. About the principles proper nutrition for sports and healthy way life we wrote in articles" , " ", " ", " ", " ", " " And " ".

Play sports, it's a great hobby! And wrestling is one of the most democratic sports, which is very useful for developing the body and maintaining health.

I am 26 years old. I am not physically fit; I have never practiced such martial arts before. Once upon a time, I tried to take up this type of martial arts ( hand-to-hand combat). I came to the section, without talking for a long time (because there was no time for talking - there were a lot of people), they put me in sparring with...

a fairly experienced partner who took me for a pear and “flashed” me to the fullest. On this coaching work ended. I realized that it was more of a coaching club for improving already trained athletes. I had to start from the basics. Therefore, on the recommendation of experienced people, I turned to Marshall with a request to take up my training in martial arts. Here, I met a complete understanding of how to structure classes with beginners like me. The main attention was paid to the issue of technique and techniques used in martial arts. Most importantly, he took into account my peculiarities - poor physical fitness and other individual characteristics, patiently explaining and correcting my mistakes. From the very first lessons I learned a lot about the technique of defense and striking. This gave me confidence in my abilities and I believed in myself, which was not the case before. For all this I am very grateful to him and I consider him a very good, thoughtful coach, capable of teaching martial arts to any beginner (even someone like me - I’m a “nerd” :-))

My impressions of working with the trainer are extremely positive. I’ve been training with him at the Moscow Kodokan martial arts center for more than a month now and I’m happy with almost everything. Roman Viktorovich is extremely pedantic when it comes to setting up equipment and devotes a lot of time to beginners, working through all aspects...

the slightest detail. He starts with the very basics and doesn’t let you move to the next “step” until you complete everything basic exercises excellently. On the one hand, this approach may seem overly pedantic and even bring down the arrogance of an ambitious beginner, but you very quickly understand that this is how you can understand the fundamental principles of the martial arts you are studying, and not just learn how to fight well. I am also pleased with the small size of the group, which, in fact, allows the coach to pay enough attention to everyone. Among the shortcomings, I can only note the specifics of the hall, which was originally intended for karate, and not boxing. There is only one punching bag, and you have to practice barefoot on the tatami. However, the lack of pears is successfully compensated by the abundance of pair work and physical exercise, and tatami is easy to get used to.

I could only dream of such a coach as Mikhail Yurievich Veltishchev! !!A professional with a capital P, with whom it is interesting to work and just communicate. For me, this trainer is a great authority, with whom I am happy to continue training myself and bring my friends...

those who want to practice martial arts. I would also really like to see Mikhail as part of my teaching team, since I am sure that most of my students will come to him for training. I recommend it to both clients and heads of educational institutions who want to open a martial arts section in their educational institution.

Freestyle wrestling teaches you not to give up in difficult moments, instills discipline and helps you find friends. Classes in most sections are free. A children's trainer tells how to start.

Freestyle wrestling is a combat sport in which opponents try to put each other on the shoulder blades (on the carcass), using various holds, throws and flips, trips and sweeps. Strikes in wrestling are prohibited, as well as techniques that can lead to broken bones.

In our country, this type of martial arts, the birthplace of which is the English county of Lancshire, has taken root very successfully. On Olympic Games and World Championships, Russia is the undisputed leader in freestyle wrestling in the team competition. Russian athletes, traditionally, are considered one of the main favorites and regularly win gold medals. This speaks of high skill our fighters, unbending willpower and, of course, a good coaching school.

Many people imagine wrestlers as gloomy, withdrawn and taciturn people. Smiling and charming freestyle wrestling coach primary classes State budgetary educational institution of Moscow “School No. 1450 “Olympus”, candidate for Master of Sports Evgeny Gusarov using personal example, he convinced us that this was absolutely not the case, and told us how freestyle wrestling would be beneficial for a child.

Evgeniy, at what age can children start freestyle wrestling?

From the age of 4-5 years, a child can already be accustomed to freestyle wrestling. You can take part in competitions at the age of 9-10, if the child is ready. There is no point in forcing and breaking your psyche.

How to determine if a child is suitable for freestyle wrestling?

I believe that freestyle wrestling is suitable for everyone, and any child can achieve certain results in this sport. Each body type has its advantages. Next, of course, you need to focus on what the coach says; he can better explain what potential your child has.

It’s worth just letting your child try it and see if he likes it. You can bring him to competitions and see his reaction.

What can kids learn from training besides physical strength and wrestling skills?

First of all, struggle develops willpower. Here you can never give up and give up, you can’t even allow yourself to have such thoughts.

Secondly, this is discipline. When I first started training, all training sessions began with the phrase “Be equal!”, and the coach greeted us with the phrase “Hello, young wrestlers!”

In addition, wrestling helps develop reaction speed, as well as ingenuity, because you must always look for a way to get close to your opponent in order to make a move on him.

What is good about freestyle wrestling, and how it can still be useful to a child in life, is the friendly relations that reign in the team of wrestlers; the child will feel support from partners in the section and will find new close friends and buddies. All wrestlers, regardless of the type of wrestling, go in a group. Boxers and strikers walk alone - they are loners, because they push away from themselves, but wrestlers are always friendly and in company, because they attract to themselves. The wrestlers are very friendly. On the mat they are rivals, and off the mat they are friends. Even after defeats there are no hard feelings.

When I was in school, we took an oath that we would use our skills wisely, only for the purpose of self-defense and the protection of the weak. Nowadays, the title of master and candidate master of sports gives a big head start in any street fight.

There are many types of wrestling. What is unique about freestyle?

I personally consider freestyle wrestling to be the foundation of the basics, because the techniques from freestyle wrestling are present in all types of wrestling. They are universal, there is no additional equipment such as a kimono to grab onto. A person learns to simply use only his body and work through direct contact with the opponent's body when performing all techniques. If you have already practiced sick wrestling, then it will be very easy for you to understand and learn any other types of wrestling.

A huge advantage of freestyle wrestling is that this sport develops all muscles at once. The muscles of the back and forearm can be especially highlighted. In addition, peripheral vision develops well.

In my opinion, freestyle wrestling is the most humane type of wrestling, which is why I liked it. I do not like cruel species sports, I'm a kind person and I don't like violence. And freestyle wrestling is a male sport, and at the same time a very humane one - neither choking nor painful techniques are used here, which increase the likelihood of injury. In this case, it is allowed to use the legs to make grabs. In Greco-Roman wrestling, for example, this is not the case.

How to choose the best section for a child and how much do classes cost?

I know about 30 sections for children in Moscow, most of them are free and located at government institutions. Information about them can be found on the Moskomsport website. There are also paid ones - about 3,000 rubles per month, maybe 6,000-8,000 rubles, but this is not a guarantee that the section will be good. In my opinion, the best freestyle wrestling sections are located at SDYUSH and SDYUSHOR, schools Olympic reserve, that is, these are schools where children study and train. This format will be very convenient for parents; there is no need to pick up the child from school and take him to the sports section - here it is combined, two in one. This is also good for the child, because he gets mental relief in the middle of the school day during training.

How to determine whether a coach in this section is good or not?

Come to training and watch him - does he like children. You can see how he will cope with difficult situations when children do not understand something, are lazy, or some kind of disagreement arises between them. If the children are spoiled, it means the coach is not coping with discipline. The coach should be friendly and moderately strict, but discipline should be top level. For children under 8 years old, everything needs to be presented in a playful way, so it’s difficult to talk about strict discipline here.

How many children go into freestyle wrestling now?

In my opinion, there is now a decline in interest in freestyle wrestling among children, and there are two reasons for this: firstly, parents have simply lost the habit or are not yet accustomed to the fact that they can receive a quality service for free; secondly, children now spend most of their time on computers and various gadgets, and not in sports sections.

When I was studying, in the late 90s - early 2000s, my coach had 20 children training, and now two coaches at my school can barely recruit 10 people.

It turns out that there are free places, but children don’t go there. Sometimes parents simply don’t know what they have near their home sport school.

Parents often choose the sports section that is geographically closer to home. Fights without rules are popular now. I would say that even for fights without rules, wrestling technique would be more useful as a base.

What equipment do you need to start training?

To just try, if you are not yet sure that this is your child’s choice, you just need shorts, a T-shirt and socks, or Czech boots.

If the child shows a desire to practice, then you can buy wrestling shoes, they cost about 1500-3000 rubles. However, again, if the parents are not sure that the child will continue to go to the section, then you can initially limit yourself to Czechs for 300-500 rubles.

How often do children have classes?

For young children (from 3 to 10 years old) - at least 3 times a week for 1 hour - 1 hour 15 minutes. For children under 6 years of age, training is often done in a playful way.

Older children (from 10 to 15 years old) train 5 times a week for 1.5 hours. From 10-11 years old are allowed to compete. At serious competitions, such as the Moscow Championship, for example, you can compete officially from the age of 14-15.

Professionals have two workouts a day, 6 times a week.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of wrestling compared to other types of martial arts that rely on striking techniques?

The wrestlers are very good at close range. In addition, they can take a punch perfectly - not every boxer can do that. This is due to good physical training: wrestlers strongly pump their neck muscles, which will allow them to take a blow. One famous athlete correctly noted that all wrestlers know how to fight, but not every boxer knows how to wrestle. If a wrestler finds himself in his element, he will do everything to immobilize his opponent and inflict a couple of blows on him.

Fighting is harder to learn than percussion technique. It will take about 3 years to move properly and learn to wrestle well. Impact equipment can be installed in six months.

Therefore, it is very useful to instill wrestling skills in childhood.

The training of wrestlers and strikers differ greatly in the type of load. Boxing training is more aerobic training, wrestling - strength and endurance.

If a wrestler comes to a boxer’s training, it will be difficult for him there, and vice versa.

Do injuries happen often?

I won’t hide it - yes. Known fact that a professional injury for wrestlers is broken ears. Wrestlers also often injure their knees and elbows. But children are less susceptible to injury because their ligaments are more elastic and their muscles are softer. There is also less risk of injury because coaches spare children when they receive microtrauma and do not force them to train and work the way they force adults in similar situations.

Do professional athletes make money from wrestling?

Yes. I myself, at the age of 15, already began to receive money, because I was listed as an athlete-instructor at my school. During all the time I competed, I won a lot of equipment and electronics, but not a lot of money. Basically they give money for 1st place.

How did you get into wrestling?

As a child, I was quite a large child. At the age of 9 I started karate and practiced it for six months. I had overweight and some things didn’t work out for me, so my parents and I decided that I wouldn’t do karate anymore.

In the 3rd grade, I learned about freestyle wrestling from a classmate and enrolled in the Olympus school. In the first years it was not easy, I was a “whipping boy” because I was superior to my peers in weight and strength, and I was taken to senior groups, where the guys were already older and stronger than me.

When I was in the 8th grade, at competitions in Moscow, I consistently began to be among the top three winners in my weight class, but I was not able to win. At 15, he was injured - a compression fracture of the spine; it took a long time to recover. One day, the deputy director for sports came up to me and said: “Zhen, we have a sports school, but you don’t train with us,” hinting that they didn’t need me. I was taken aback, because there were guys in my class who practically didn’t train at all, they just skipped training. But I assured him that I would start training soon. I gathered my thoughts and began to train hard, and two months later I won the Moscow championship for the first time, and a month later I went to the all-Russian competition for my age and, to my surprise and great joy, I won them! This was my triumph: in three months, I went from being an unnoticed boy, getting into the Russian championship, to becoming a champion. Some said I was lucky. I had to confirm it with deeds, and more than once. I ended up winning the Russian Championship 3 times: 2 times in freestyle wrestling and 1 time in belt wrestling ( national species struggle among the Tatars). I then fulfilled the norm for a master of sports in freestyle wrestling, but the coach did not submit the documents on time and I never received the title. And the shelf life of the results is six months. Now my plans include fulfilling the norm again in order to restore historical justice (smiles).

The parents of every boy want to see their grown-up son strong, courageous, decisive, capable of protecting himself and his loved ones. These qualities, as a rule, are embedded in the very early childhood. And not the least role in their formation and consolidation is played by the chosen sports section. In our country one of popular types sport is Greco-Roman wrestling, in competitions in which our athletes are almost always among the winners.

We talked with the president of the sports public organization “Federation” about how champions in this sport grow, what parents need to be prepared for and what to pay attention to when choosing a Greco-Roman wrestling section. wrestling Yaroslavl region", Honored Master of Sports Russian Federation Greco-Roman wrestling Alexey Lvovich Tarabarin.

1. Alexey Lvovich, what are the main features of Greco-Roman wrestling?

– I think the main questions arise when comparing Greco-Roman (classical) and freestyle wrestling. The first involves two opponents fighting with holds and techniques only above the waist and only with their hands. The main goal of the fight is to carry out active actions and put the opponent on his shoulder. In freestyle wrestling, grips with both hands and feet are allowed. Each type has its own rules and techniques that require the athlete to practice and polish it to an automatic, almost intuitive level. But there are cases when one athlete can compete in both types of competitions. To be fair, I will say that in modern history I know of only one case when a freestyle wrestler also competed in classic style, because switching from one type of competition to another is not very easy.

2. How dangerous is this sport?

– As in any sport, there are injuries in wrestling. In the initial stages of learning, children often get injured in their nose, which results in bleeding.

3. Tell me if parents are thinking about choosing sports section for their child, should they see any prerequisites that indicate that wrestling is right for him?

- No, they shouldn’t. If we go deeper into history, we will see that Greco-Roman wrestling is the ancestor of all sports. The ancients raised boys with wrestling as one of their main activities. This is an entire education system that does not require any prerequisites. Currently, there are different weight and age categories, so every child who wants to come to the hall will find a suitable group.

4. Are there any contraindications for wrestling?

– The only contraindication may be the presence of any disease that precludes physical activity.

The most current and helpful information for modern parents - in our newsletter.
We already have over 30,000 subscribers!

– Recruitment starts from 7 years old. Since I am familiar with the training program for children of this age, which is based mainly on play, I can recommend giving at the same time as entering a secondary school.

6. What should you pay attention to when choosing a Greco-Roman wrestling section?

– The section should be budgetary (state), with a large hall and good sports history, that is, her students should have real results.

7. What expenses should parents be prepared for?

– For the first time, you need to buy sneakers, sports shorts and a T-shirt. In the future - wrestling shoes and wrestling tights.

8. How suitable is this sport for girls?

– In my opinion, Greco-Roman wrestling is in no way suitable. If there is interest and desire, a girl can try her luck in freestyle wrestling. In this type of wrestling, our athletes perform successfully at world competitions and Olympics.

9. What personal qualities, in your opinion, does Greco-Roman wrestling develop?

– Wrestling develops will, character, confidence, strength of mind and spirit, determination, develops intuition, endurance, teaches the skills of effective teamwork, and also develops calmness and endurance, the ability to soberly assess the situation before making a decision, but at the same time react in a timely manner. emergency situations. And this is just a small list of what positive influence, which this sport has.

10. How much do you need to train to achieve any results?

– This is very individual. As in any Olympic form sports requires painstaking work, first of all, on yourself. If we talk about significant results, our wrestlers have been bringing the lion's share of awards to the Russian Olympic team for many years.
