The festival participants will be the best aviation and aircraft modeling sports clubs from all over Russia and other countries of the world, as well as technical modeling clubs. “Moscow Sky” is the only festival in our country where almost all classes of aircraft models fly, from “children’s” throwing gliders and paper airplanes to the pinnacle of aircraft modeling - jet models reaching speeds of up to 250 km/h.

The best pilots from all over the world will take part in the Moscow Sky Dron Racing drone race. On Saturday, August 25, 16 pilots from different countries will compete on a unique route - one of the parts of the route will pass through the music stage of the festival for greater entertainment. One of the most spectacular parts of the program will be demonstration performances by an aerobatic team of model airplanes with jet engines. Experienced pilots will demonstrate aerobatics: loops, rolls, flying on a “knife” and others no less complex figures. Among the participants is the head of the RUSJET club and the World Champion in the class of radio-controlled replica models Pavel Lapshov. Modern maneuverable helicopter models will perform a specially choreographed “dance” in the sky to the music.

The air combat competition for radio-controlled models will be held on the airfield - the Moscow and Moscow Region Cup for radio-controlled air combat aircraft in the Soyuz-500 class. The goal of the competition is to “chop off” the maximum number of pieces of paper tape tied to the tail of the enemy aircraft. More than ten aircraft models from the Great Patriotic War will take off at the same time and take part in hot battles. At a specially built cordodrome, model aircraft athletes will conduct exhibition air battles and demonstrate the flight of aerobatic models.

Everyone will be able to ride in a hot air balloon, for which over 10 huge hot-air balloons will appear on the site. The exhibition of aviation equipment will bring together the most beautiful examples of small aircraft: biplanes, hang gliders and gliders. The exhibition will also feature historical An-2 aircraft, Mi-2 helicopters, and a Mi-4 helicopter being restored by the aircraft plant: after standing for decades at a storage base, it has now been restored to flying condition. A unique collection of vintage aircraft engines collected by employees of the Moscow Aircraft Repair Plant will be demonstrated to the public for the first time.

Instructors from the Russian Gliding Federation will tell you how and why gliders fly and how to control them in the air. The guest of the festival will be the legendary training glider Blahnik, he will open the morning air program of the festival, his pilot will be the chairman of the Russian Gliding Federation Sergei Ryabchinsky. Bench modeling will not be ignored either. Famous craftsmen will present collections of miniature aircraft models, and master classes on assembling and painting plastic aircraft models will also be held here.

The author of the “Little Airplane” project, Yuri Rozhdestvin, who has been involved in aircraft modeling for many years, is responsible for the festival’s children’s program. On the playground, children will be able to make their own glider, kite, take part in aircraft modeling competitions and, if the glider is assembled very carefully, launch it on a long flight.
