About the festival

The festival is held during the May holidays at the Rose Khutor mountain resort. A rich program of events awaits you: running competitions, meetings with interesting people, educational lectures, a sporting goods fair and new acquaintances!

In your free time, you can enjoy the views of the Rosa Khutor Mountain Resort, visit the Caucasus State Reserve, Gornaya Olympic Village, go to Sochi, walk around the Olympic venues, ride the rides of the largest amusement park in Russia, go to the Dolphinarium and go to Abkhazia.

Rosa Khutor offers a calm and safe holiday for adults and children, comfortable accommodation in the resort hotels. Within walking distance are bars and restaurants, boutiques and souvenir shops, fitness centers and spas.

ROSA PEAK
The fastest man and woman will receive a super prize: a weekend for 2 persons at the Mercure Hotel (a four-star hotel with a wellness center and a swimming pool with a glass roof) with the included “Mountains of Entertainment” package during the period (from 29.04 to 30.10.19).

ROSA QUEST
The winning team receives lunch at the Height 2320 restaurant, from whose panoramic windows a majestic view of the main Caucasus Range and the Black Sea opens. The restaurant is open until 17:00.

From May 3 to 6, a large-scale running event took place at the Rosa Khutor mountain resort in Sochi - International Rosa Run running festival, which was attended by more than 2000 people. Sports festival is being held for the 3rd time, and the organizers have already opened registration forRosa Run2019 . Participants were able to demonstrate the ingenuity, courage and elegance of special agents - this was exactly the theme of the festival this year.

Day one - ROSA PEAK. Endurance test

On May 3, 800 participants reached the summit of Rose Peak. This truly difficult route ran from Rosa Plateau to Rosa Peak, with a total elevation gain of 1150 m. What made the route especially impressive was the change in landscape and weather: the runners began covering the distance in hot, quite summer weather, and completed it in the middle of the snow.

Egor Belousov from Moscow became the fastest conqueror of the Peak, his time was 01:01:42. Among the girls, Olga Tarantinova from Shchelkovo was the first to reach the top, her time was 01:07:22.

Day two - ROSA QUEST. Speed ​​of feet and mind!

The second day's events allowed participants to demonstrate not only physical training, but also ingenuity and the ability to work in a team. 53 spy groups, each of which had 12 people, spent 3 hours running around trying to cope with 39 exciting tasks.

Day three - ROSA CARNIVAL. Fantasy and fun!

“We had a wedding at the race, a bridal bouquet, a gift from the kind and sporty Evelina Bledans and her sweet son,” the festival organizers summed up the lively third day. Winners were determined in 15 carnival categories.

Day four - ROSA 777 / ROSA 7. Incredibly beautiful and difficult!

On the final day of the Rosa Run festival, athletes challenged the mountains and ran the most difficult and beautiful road half marathon in Russia! Seven kilometers across the plain, seven uphill and seven downhill - this is the sketch of this picturesque race, which started with more than 1,500 single athletes, as well as 16 teams competing for victory in the relay.

The winner of the half marathon was Dmitry Safronov, bronze medalist of the European Championship in running at a distance of 42.2 km in 2010, participant Olympic Games in London 2012. All results of Rosa Run 777

In 2019, the Rosa Run festival will be held from May 1 to 4. An update is expected in the program: on the last, fourth day, the ROSA TRAIL/SKYRACE race will take place.

May 4 – ROSA PEAK CHALLENGE

The Peak Mountain Run is a “vertical kilometer” race. Participants have 60 minutes to climb as high as possible, with ice and snow along the way, which add to the difficulty of the route.

May 5 – ROSA QUEST

Team race with tasks. All participants will be randomly divided into teams, since one of the goals of this race is to make new acquaintances among the runners. Following the route indicated on the map, teams will have to go through all the task points within the allotted time limit and score as many points as possible.

May 6 – ROSA CARNIVAL

A 5K costume run for runners of all skill levels and ages. At the start - the whole family and groups of friends. Prizes are given for the best costume, so participants will need to use their imagination.

May 7 – ROSA 777 and ROSA 7

ROSA 777 is the most difficult and most beautiful road half marathon in Russia. 7 km - ascent, 7 km - descent and 7 km - running on the plain. This is a test for a real hero, which anyone can become. For those who like shorter distances, there is a 7 km satellite race.

About the festival location

From May 3 to 6, the ROSA RUN running festival was held at the year-round resort of Rosa Khutor. 4 days of mass running events brought together a large number of amateurs from all over the country - ROSA PEAK, ROSA QUEST, ROSA CARNIVAL, ROSA 777, ROSA 7 and relay race. As many as 6 events organized by the IRONSTAR team, known primarily for organizing triathlon starts. The growth in popularity of the race was obvious. Long before the start vertical run Rosa Peak and the Rosa 7 amateur race did not have starting slots. Those wishing to buy stood in line right before the start. And this is in the absence of any status of championships, cups and big promises.

ROSA PEAK, for example, gathered 788 participants, not counting those who ran without numbers, and there were many of them, but a very strict control time - 2 hours and the race conditions eliminated an impressive number of people - only 430 people reached the finish line, meeting the time limit. Unfortunately, a large number of people did not start and did not resell their slots, which may have contributed to the fact that many ran without numbers. This is not healthy, although it is attributed to the fun nature of the race. Before the race, re-registration of slots was organized at the place where numbers were issued, but rather spontaneously, and not everyone was able to do everything officially. Therefore, it is impossible to calculate the actual number of people who started. We know about the tendency to “buy up” slots for all races in a row among amateurs and do not want to resell them due to the not too high price, as for example on ROSA RUN.

Remember! Knowing that you won’t go to the start line, and not offering to resell your slot, you are depriving someone of their starting number, especially when there is a rush!

But we digress a little from the point.

Run ROSA PEAK- a vertical race in the spirit of real skyrunning, but not included in the Russian official disciplines for this sport. The route is too long and flat for the Vertical Kilometer. A couple of days before the start, at the request of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, due to avalanche danger on the slopes, the route was significantly changed along the route, but to the credit of the organizers, they did not shorten it, but made it even more interesting and steep. Total, approximately 6.5 km and 1150 m of elevation gain with the finish at the summit of Rosa Peak 2320 m. More than half of the distance was on loose snow, which added to the difficulty. The use of sticks was permitted.

IN next year There will be no ROSA 777 asphalt half marathon. Its place will be taken by Skyrace with preliminary characteristics - 1500m of climb and 21km of distance. There will also be a trail satellite with smaller parameters.

We thank the organizers for developing the mass character of mountain races and attracting a completely new audience. We hope that next year the ROSA RUN festival will be held at an even higher level!

The ROSA RUN festival brought together more than a thousand participants from 55 cities of Russia. A delegation from China, athletes from the UAE, Italy, Estonia and Abkhazia also arrived.

The festival program consisted of four days sports and entertainment events.

Day one: vertical kilometer ROSA PEAK

Race up Mount Rose Peak with a climb of up to 600 meters. Participants had to climb as high as possible in 60 minutes. Almost half of the starters managed to reach this mark before the finishing gun sounded.

Day two: ROSA QUEST

Team race with tasks. 26 teams took part in it, each with 10 people. Participants went through 20 points where they had to perform both sport exercises, and tasks for intelligence. The winning team was determined not by the speed of the course, but by the total number of points scored.

Day three: ROSA CARNIVAL

A 3-kilometer costume run for everyone. It became a real holiday for the participants and guests of Rosa Khutor. Four hundred characters and creatures ran along the resort’s embankments, surprising with their bright and original images.

Day four: half marathon ROSA 777 and satellite race ROSA 7

The main event of the festival was the most difficult and beautiful mountain half-marathon ROSA 777, the route of which began on the Rosa Khutor embankment and went into the mountains all the way to Rosa Plateau. The altitude climb was more than 700 meters. It took the winner just over an hour to overcome this difficult route. On May 7, ROSA 7 was also held - a 7-kilometer satellite race.
