The winners will be awarded a little later. And the winners of the “Tank Biathlon” in the individual competition (two Chinese crews who won first and second place, and a Russian crew who became third) were awarded by the Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces, Colonel General Oleg Salyukov after the end of the final relay race of the “Suvorov Onslaught” competition.

The 2015 tank biathlon ended in victory for the Russian team, with China in second place and the Serbian team in third. And now a new competitive stage of tank biathlon has begun - 2016. The main goal of the organizers of these competitions is to clearly demonstrate their professional skills, the technical capabilities of combat vehicles, skill and dexterity, so that at the end, everyone can conclude lucrative contracts.

The 2016 competition promises to be the most ambitious and large-scale in the history of tank biathlon. This year, 21 countries applied to participate in the competition; one can only guess how many of them will make it to Russia.

Just like in 2015, the tank biathlon competition will be held against the backdrop of the second ever International Army Games, which began on July 30 and will last until August 13, 2016. At the moment, the teams are taking part in qualifying competitions, where the strongest and most experienced Russian crews will be identified, which will have to participate in the main starts. As before, the main rivals of Russian crews will be teams from Belarus, Kazakhstan and China.

For the fourth year now, the most spectacular army competitions, the international tank biathlon, have been taking place at the Alabino training ground, near Moscow. The crews will still compete in the skill of driving a combat vehicle and the accuracy of shooting from all types of tank weapons. The competition is held in four stages, during which both the ability to operate a tank and the physical training of the crew members are tested:

  1. Individual race.
  2. Sprint and pursuit race.
  3. Sports stage (competition for tankers).
  4. Relay race
The very first competition was held in 2013 and, as it turned out, it was not in vain. Tank biathlon was “received with a bang,” and almost immediately became traditional and mandatory within the framework of the International Army Games. These competitions attracted the attention of a large number of countries who also wanted to take part in the games. And the number of applicants is growing every year.

In 2014, 12 countries took part in the “tank biathlon” competition, and this year the number of participants has increased significantly. In addition to traditional teams, people even came to the tank games from Zimbabwe, where kinotochka.club also became interested in this type of competition. It should be noted that the Russian team has been the favorite in the competition for the 4th year already. And although the final is still far away, many fans of this type of competition are confident that the Russian team will win again, as in previous games.

The organizers of large-scale tank biathlon competitions are very inspired by the tremendous success and plan to expand the movement of the games. For example, there is an opinion to make them like the Olympic Games. Based on the results of the 2016 games, the frequency of their holding will be decided, once every four years or still annually.

Other participating countries were extremely pleased with the new type of Tank Biathlon competition, for example, Advisor to the Minister of Defense of Armenia, Muraz Sargasyan, expressed the general opinion that these competitions fully show that countries do not want to conduct military operations, that they are ready conduct dialogue and strengthen cooperation in all areas, both military-technical and friendly.
