A pool made from ordinary wooden pallets for a summer residence. How to make a frame pool from old pallets DIY pool from pallets

Have you finished renovating and your entire garden is littered with wooden pallets? Don't know what to do with them? Are you already out of ideas for DIY pallet furniture? We have a solution - from all the remaining pallets you can make a real royal swimming pool at minimal cost. How? We will tell you with great pleasure.

Do-it-yourself pool from Euro pallets

Pallets are in great demand when you need to make garden furniture, but a pool made of pallets is something not every owner of a large plot of land comes up with. Often, much more serious materials are used to build a pool - brick, concrete and many others. But this is not at all necessary - you can make a pool in the garden with your own hands. And the rest of the garbage remaining after the repair should be removed with the help of the EcoTrest company, especially if your house is located in the Salaryevo microdistrict or somewhere nearby.

A pallet pool is a lightweight but durable structure that can support a large number of guests, the main thing is to design and strengthen it correctly.

Construction of a pool from pallets in the garden

There are usually two options for the shape of a pool: a circle or a rectangle. On average, a small pool requires about 10 pallets held together with metal plates. If you plan to use a small amount of water, you can get by with simple fastening with nails.

Having fastened the pallets, it is necessary to sheathe the layer inside with wooden layers. After this, a thick film or awning is placed inside to support people inside, and, in principle, the pool is ready - all that remains is to decorate. And, of course, supply water. It is better to fold the film in several layers or use a thick awning, such as an awning for truck trailers.

Pool maintenance

It is important to remember that you should leave room for draining and changing water, and also that water from the ground will most likely require additional treatment. If you do not have filters installed on the pump in your garden, then you should take care in advance of substances that will help kill the infection.

The location of the pool is very important

When determining a location for a pool, you should consider what time of day you will use it most often and move it closer to the sun. After all, what temperature the water in the pool will be depends primarily on this.

Pallets and trays for pools photo

I think any of us wants to have our own pool near our house or at our dacha, so that in hot weather summer time cool down in cool water. But many people think that making a large swimming pool with their own hands is very expensive. In this article we will dispel this myth and show how you can build a swimming pool in your country house from wooden pallets and other inexpensive materials for little money.

Swede Torben Jung also dreamed for a long time of having his own pool on his property, but his finances did not allow him to buy a ready-made one, and then one day he got tired of everything and built a pool from scrap materials and the cost of its construction was less than $80! He found instructions on the Internet and immediately set about making this pool. He filmed the whole process and posted it on his Facebook page so that other people could also repeat this design.

The base of the pool is assembled from wooden pallets; Toben placed 9 pallets in a circle, knocking them together with boards in the upper, lower and middle parts.

To further strengthen the structure, he reinforced the pallets with tie-down straps.

He then placed a waterproof liner throughout the pool and placed towels over the joints of the trays and the bottom of the pool, this was done so that the trays would not put pressure on people’s backs. He sent another layer on top - a waterproof tarpaulin - and secured it to the top of the pallets with duct tape.

To give his pallet pool a traditional color, Toben chose another waterproof material in a blue hue. First secured on top with tape, and then with wooden handrail boards, which were nailed to the top of the pallets.

After Jung covered his pool with siding made from bamboo branches, no one would even think that the pool was made with his own hands from ordinary old pallets; it now looks quite expensive.

All that remains is to add water to this pool and enjoy swimming, but that’s not all, to replace the water, the Swede bought a simple water pump and now replacing it is not difficult and the water in the pool always remains clean.

A swimming pool at the dacha is a great opportunity to take a swim on a hot summer day after hard work in the garden, and for the kids it will be just paradise. But it is not always possible to buy expensive plastic or inflatable pool. You can make a small pool with your own hands simply from scrap materials such as tires, pallets, containers, bathtubs that you can find in your yard or you can get them completely free.

Available materials: advantages and disadvantages

There is a large number of different materials from which you can make yourself in a short time a comfortable country pool, where not only children, but also their parents can splash in the summer. And for this you will not need to spend a lot of money and purchase expensive tools, as in the case of building a stationary concrete pool.

From tires

If you have the opportunity to find or ask your friend a tractor driver for an old unnecessary tire, then you can make an excellent pool at your dacha in which all family members can swim.

The old tire will serve as the frame (sides) for the pool, and the bottom will need to be filled with concrete, about 15 centimeters thick. It is necessary to pour concrete not only inside, but also outside for more waterproofing. It will also be necessary to install a tap to drain the water and provide a cleaning facility (filter) for the pool. In a week you will be able to use this pool without any problems.

But there are both advantages and disadvantages of this material for constructing a pool.

From wooden pallets

Wooden pallets have long been used to make garden furniture and can now be used to build a swimming pool. Their sizes and shapes allow the construction of walls (sides) for a reservoir. In order to make a good round structure, you will need to take 9 pallets. Then the pool can freely accommodate about 6 people.

From plastic bottles

Plastic bottles have long been a popular building material for summer residents. These are convenient and practical products from which you can build a fairly high and strong round, oval, square or rectangular pool wall structure using cement mortar.

Meanwhile, there are a number of advantages and disadvantages plastic bottles as material for the construction of a swimming pool.

From a cast iron bath

Very often, when making renovations in an apartment, we throw away old cast iron or steel bathtubs, which can now be useful in the country and not only for collecting rainwater. From such a bathroom you can make a small pool for children who can splash in warm water while relaxing in the country. To build such a pool, you only need the bathtub itself, a certain amount of sand and decorative finishing materials at hand.

From the container

If you have an empty container at your dacha in which you previously stored your tools, now it can easily become a beautiful and deep pool. But if you decide to make such a pond at your dacha, and the container is not available, then you can always purchase it at an affordable price from a shipping company.

From reinforced concrete rings

Reinforced concrete rings, from which wells are constructed, and sewer systems are perfect for constructing a small pool on a personal plot. The height of the standard ring is 90 cm, so the depth of the pool will be quite sufficient for children and adults, and the maximum diameter is 2 meters. The round ring is already a ready-made structure for the pool walls, but in order to create a leak-proof reservoir, you will need to additionally purchase geotextiles, concrete mortar and sand.

From gabions

Gabions are stones placed in a special metal mesh. Since the mesh can have a variety of geometric shapes, the pool can be made according to your wishes. Such a pool will look great on a personal plot and, moreover, will not require additional decoration.

How to make a pool from a tire with your own hands

Calculation of required materials

In order to make a sufficiently voluminous pool from a tire, we recommend paying attention to Belaz truck tires. The diameter of this tire ranges from 1.62 to 3.575 meters, and the width from 49.8 to 114 centimeters. If you need to select right size, then you can use a special table.

  • In order to find out the volume of the future pool, we need to make some simple calculations using the formula V=π·r 2 ·h, where V denotes the volume of a round reservoir; the number π is a constant that is equal to 3.14; r - radius of the circle; h - tire height. We need to find out the radius of the circle. To do this, we divide the diameter value by two: 3.575:2 = 1.7875 mm.
  • Then we substitute our numbers and get the volume of the structure: 3.14 x 1.7875 2 x 1.149 = 11.4371 m 3. We get a round number of 11.438 m 3.
  • In order to make the base of the pool, we will need to purchase sand and cement mortar. The sand cushion and concrete bottom must be at least 15 cm thick, so we need to calculate the amount of these materials.
  • Sand: 3.14x3.1951x0.15=1.504 m3. We will need a little more cement mortar, so we need to add 2 more buckets to this volume.
  • As a finishing material, we can take oil paint of various colors, which we will use to paint the outer frame of the pool. Or you can decorate it with small natural stones.

    List of tools

  • A good, sharp, large knife (preferably a hunting knife).
  • Shovels and bayonet.
  • Large containers for cement mortar, sand and water.
  • Concrete mixer (or a special construction container for preparing concrete mortar).
  • Level.
  • A tape measure of at least 5 meters.
  • Stages of work

  • Using a knife, we make a deep cut on one side of the tire. And in order for us to get an even cut, we need to walk the knife exactly along the marked circles of the tire. We do not recommend using a grinder, since during operation the rubber will melt and stick to the cutting wheel, and it will also crumble badly.
  • We determine a place for the pool and clear it well. We remove unnecessary plants and debris, and then pour a layer of sand and compact it well. You can moisten the sand a little and then it will keep its shape. We need to make a layer of sand of 15 centimeters so that the diameter of the pillow is 15–20 centimeters larger than the diameter of the tire.
  • We pour the prepared concrete solution on top of the pillow to create a layer of about 15 centimeters. We place a tire on top of the solution and pour two buckets of solution inside it.
  • We now leave our pool for about a week to allow the concrete to harden well.
  • After that we can take waterproof paint and paint it inner part(walls) of the pool so that they are not black, but for example blue, turquoise or green to match the color of the water. We can decorate the outer walls of the tire to suit our taste: paint it with oil paint, cover it with pieces of broken tiles like a mosaic, cover it with small stones, etc.
  • How and what to paint

If you decide to paint a tire pool, you can use nitro paint, enamel, oil paint or aerosol for painting cars.

  • Nitro paint dries very quickly and even a thin layer of it can make the surface mirror-smooth and even.
  • Enamel is best applied in 2 layers. The first layer is applied in a zigzag, and then with a semi-dry roller the paint is evenly distributed over the surface. Then we apply the second layer.
  • The aerosol is applied from a spray can, which is very convenient, since brushes and rollers are not required.
  • Water-repellent oil paint has a high degree of hiding power and strength. If you want to get a matte surface of the pool, then you can add a solution consisting of 100 grams of laundry soap (40%) to the paint (3 liters).
  • Video: how to make a pool from a large tire

Such a pool does not require special operating conditions, since truck tires are designed to operate even in the most severe weather conditions and at any temperature. Therefore, the pool will serve you for many years.

Periodically, its internal and outer part, and the bottom will have to be repainted, since even the most waterproof paint will begin to crack and peel over time.

Construction of a reservoir from pallets (pallets)

    Calculation of required materials

Pallets will be an excellent solution for a country pool. From these we will build the walls of the structure and the more pallets we take, the larger and rounder our pool will be.

  • In order to calculate the volume of a reservoir, we will use the mathematical formula S=A

2 -a 2, where "A" is the side of the square that contains the octagon, and "a" is the side of the octagon. Therefore, “a” will be 1.2 meters long for the side of the pallet.

  • First, we find the value of “A” using the formula below:
  • The result from the root is 1.41421356. Next, using this formula we find the fraction and it turns out to be 0.8485281. Then we substitute our numbers into the formula to calculate side “A”: 1.2 + 2x0.8485281 = 2.8970562 m.
  • We calculate the area of the structure: S=A 2 -a 2 and we get 2.8970562 2 – 1.2 2 =8.3929346–1.44=6.9529346m2. Now we round up our figure and get 6.95 m 2.
  • Having all the values, we calculate the volume of the pool using the formula V=S base xh, where “h” is the height of the structure, which is 0.9 meters. We get 6.95x0.9 = 6.255 m3.
  • Tools

  • Large shovels of various types.
  • Big hammer.
  • Electric or cordless screwdriver.
  • Concrete mixer.
  • Buckets for sand, water and concrete.
  • Gravel or crushed stone (the amount is calculated based on the diameter of the pool).
  • Electric jigsaw.
  • Sander or sandpaper.
  • Minimum 10 meter tape measure.
  • Stakes and strong cord.
  • Square.
  • Rule (level) and plumb.
  • Marker or pencil.
  • Large pliers.
  • Wood planer.
  • Hardware.
  • Stages of work

  • First, we treat all pallets with antiseptic and antifungal agents and special impregnations, since the wood will be in close proximity to water.
  • For the pool sections we take 120x90 cm pallets. From them we will create an octagonal-shaped structure.
  • Using shovels, we dig a round pit so that our diameter is slightly larger than the size of the future reservoir.
  • We level the bottom of the hole well and fill it with crushed stone or gravel - a layer of 20 centimeters.
  • Inside the pit we assemble a frame from pallets (8 pieces). Before this, we lay thick polyethylene on the bottom of the pit. We place the pallets as a solid part inside the structure.
  • We connect all the elements with boards that are nailed or screwed along the perimeter of the sides of the frame. We reinforce the joints with wooden blocks using a screwdriver and self-tapping screws.
  • We make holes in the frame of the required diameter to install a good drainage system.
  • After assembling the entire frame, we must firmly secure it with two secure tie straps in a circle at the top and bottom of the pool.
  • We insert into the holes prepared in advance plastic pipes for supplying and draining water.
  • In order to further strengthen our frame, we drive wooden pegs into the distance between the pallets and the walls of the pit.
  • We fill the bottom of the pool with 10 mm of concrete solution and leave it for 5–7 days for it to completely harden.
  • After the concrete has dried, we begin waterproofing work. To do this, we take a thick polyethylene film and lay it over the entire inner surface of the pool. We secure it with tape to the sides.
  • We can decorate the outer sides of the pool frame with OSB, chipboard or fiberboard, as they will help hide all the unaesthetic elements of the pallet fastenings. You can also quickly and inexpensively decorate the frame with ordinary rolls of reeds, bamboo, etc. fastened together.

    Nuances of care and operation

It is necessary to carefully care for such a pool. Regularly check the plastic film for cuts or other damage that could allow water to leak through. Over time, even a small leak from a small hole will damage the wooden frame (mold, rot will appear, the wood will swell, etc.).

Periodically, you will need to drain the water and thoroughly wash the pool of sand, dirt and other debris. If you don't have good filters, you will have to change the water often, and this is very expensive, so it is best to purchase a good water purification device once. You can even use a homemade one sand filter, which is the most common among summer residents who make their own pools.

Also, once a year or several years, if necessary, it will be necessary to re-treat the wooden parts of the pool with special impregnations.

Swimming pool at the dacha made of PVC bottles

    Calculation of materials

Plastic bottles have already become an almost integral attribute of summer residents, as they use them to make many different items for their summer cottage: furniture, fences for flower beds and front gardens, hotbeds and greenhouses, including swimming pools.

  • In order to calculate the number of bottles required for a structure measuring 4x2x1.5 meters, we must know the parameters of 1 bottle. One and a half liter plastic container has dimensions of 34.5x8.5 cm.
  • Since we will be laying the bottles on their sides, we need to divide the total length of the frame by their width. That is, we will need 4000:85=47 pieces to lay one row.
  • Next, we will calculate how many containers we will need for a frame width of 2000:85 = 23.5 pieces. Now we double our results if the pool is square (47+23.5)x2=141 pieces.
  • Since the height of the structure is 1.5 meters, it is necessary to calculate the number of future rows 1500:85=17.6. Now we need to determine how many bottles we need in total, and for this we need 141X17.6 = 2481.6 pieces. But we will round this figure and get 2500 bottles with reserve.
  • We will also need to pour sand into each bottle, so for this we will need 2500x1.5 = 3750 kg.
  • We will make a pillow 15 cm thick from sand. Therefore, we calculate its quantity as follows: multiply the width, length and height of the sand masonry: 4x2x0.15 = 1.2 m 3. Now we add up all our results and get 3722+120=3842 kg.
  • A 15 cm concrete base will also require 120 kg of mortar.
  • Tools for work

  • Shovels (you can order a small excavator).
  • Electric screwdriver.
  • Concrete mixer.
  • Bucket for garbage, water and solution.
  • Minimum 10 meter tape measure.
  • Pegs and strong cord.
  • Large corner.
  • Level (rule) and plumb.
  • Marker or pencil.
  • Hardware (nails and screws).
  • Construction stages

  • We choose a flat area and clear it well. Such a pool will stand perfectly on a slab foundation.
  • We dig a flat pit measuring 4x2 meters and 15 centimeters deep.
  • We level the bottom of the pit and compact it well. We pour sand (slightly moistened) on top and distribute it evenly around the entire perimeter, and then compress it to a layer of 15 cm. We also fill in a small layer of gravel.
  • We make formwork from wide boards, and to prevent the frame from falling apart, we hammer wedges into the ground from the outer sides.
  • We make a lattice from reinforcement (diameter 8 mm) in order to strengthen the base. We tighten the connecting points of the rods with wire. The grid cell is approximately 10x10 cm, and its area is 8 square meters.
  • We lay such a frame made of reinforcement on the bottom so that it does not come into contact with the sand. And for this we install a small support made of broken bricks. And then we put the frame on top.
  • We supply the necessary pipes for supplying and draining water.
  • We pour the concrete solution and level it well with a special tool (a rule or just a flat board).
  • Let the solution harden for 5–7 days.
  • Then we move on to laying walls from PVC bottles and for this we mark out the geometry of the pool.
  • We fill each bottle with sand and screw on the lid. Then we apply a wide strip of solution to the marking.
  • From reinforcement (diameter 0.3 mm) we make a frame that will serve as a connecting element between rows of plastic bottles.
  • We place the bottles very tightly next to each other on the cement mortar, and fill the resulting gaps between them with cement. After we have laid the first row, we fill it with cement and lay a frame of reinforcement.
  • We remove the formwork and begin masonry with bottles until we have a wall of the required height. If our pool is round, then in the center of the structure we install a homemade compass in the form of a metal pin with a horizontal crossbar, which will help you not deviate from the radius.
  • We leave our walls for 5-7 days so that the cement mortar is completely dry. After this we begin to plaster the walls. We cover the inner surface of the pool with bitumen as waterproofing.
  • Next we begin finishing work. We take a plastic film, which is necessary for arranging the interior of the pool. We lay it well, stretch it, cut off the excess, and weld the joints and carefully treat them with special glue or sealant.
  • Now you can decorate the area around the pool at your own discretion.
  • Care and operation

In order to keep the water in the pool clean, it is necessary to install appropriate filters.

Having your own swimming pool on the property is not such a luxury. The German master Torben Jung made it from ordinary wooden pallets. The cost of the entire structure did not exceed $80. He photographed every stage of his work, and then posted the pictures on social networks.

Torben Jung has long dreamed of having his own swimming pool on the property. Instead of buying ready-made, he acted like our typical summer resident: he decided to make it cheaply himself, preferably from what he had on hand. And he had free pallets at his disposal. On the Internet, he found a site with plans and projects for homemade swimming pools.

The base of his pool was made of wooden pallets - 9 pieces. He placed them on a flat, rock-free piece of land. To prevent the structure from being torn apart by the weight of water, the walls are connected by special tightening belts.

Torben lined all the internal surfaces of the resulting frame with film. On top of it, at the joints of the pallets, I laid towels for softness (so that the joints were not visible and bathers were not injured).

The waterproof “bowl” of the pool was a blue tarpaulin from a hardware store. It cost the most - more than half of the entire budget.

The pool could have been left outside as is, but Torben decided to decorate it with reed mats.

Since there is no drain in the pool, a garden water pump came in handy for this purpose. With its help, the German summer resident simply pumps out dirty water from the pool and fills it with fresh water.

Swimming in the pool on a hot day is the dream of most owners of suburban areas. It would seem that such luxury is the prerogative of large landowners who invest substantial money in the development of the territory. But even on a modest 6-10 acres, realizing the dream of splashing around in the summer is not a difficult matter. In a couple of days, an ordinary summer resident can build a pool from pallets with his own hands, and if necessary, disassemble it or move it to another place. In this article we will look step by step at how to build a pool from pallets in a small country house or in the courtyard of a private house.

    Design Features

There are many constructive solutions for independent arrangement of artificial reservoirs. A tank in a pit or an above-ground bowl, lined with blocks and concrete - capital structures, erected once and for many years. Frame pools - a PVC container in a sheathing, a collapsible version. Such pools different forms and sizes sold in finished form, but if you wish, you can make a small bath on a frame with your own hands.

    DIY pool

A pool made of pallets is a homemade economy class frame structure. From used materials available at hand, you can quickly and inexpensively set up a comfortable place to relax. The number of pallets available determines whether it will be a small tank for relaxation or a full-fledged pool in which you can swim.

If desired, a pool assembled with your own hands from pallets can be finished so that it lasts for several years. To do this, the platform under the bottom is prepared separately: leveled, covered with pebbles, sand or lined with foam plastic. The slightly recessed (20-30 cm) structure of the pallets will ensure additional stability of the sides under water pressure throughout the entire service life. All wooden elements structures are treated with water-repellent impregnation. If a bathhouse made from pallets, assembled for two to three weeks, is often not decorated in any way, then a pool designed for at least 2-3 seasons fits harmoniously into the landscape design of the site.

    Mini-pool made from pallets

    Advantages and disadvantages

Possibility of equipping a reservoir without the involvement of specialists, serious financial investments in capital hydraulic structure already a huge plus. If we consider the advantages of a pool made of pallets for a summer house in detail, we get the following picture:

    1. The time for independent arrangement from scratch is from several hours to 2-3 days (depending on the volume, availability of material, number of workers).
    2. Minimum financial investment (you can only use used materials).
    3. A fully decorated building is a spectacular accent of garden design.
    4. Implementation of the project at all stages is possible alone.
    5. If necessary, the structure can be dismantled in a few hours.

It would be hard to call the fragility of the design a minus. With minimal investment, it is impossible to create a pool from improvised materials for a long period of time.

Self-assembly of a pool from pallets

    Drafting

The project is compiled either based on the availability of pallets, or, having enough consumables, on the desired volume of the bowl and the height of the sides. Wooden pallets, standard sizes which are 80x120 cm, are installed vertically (side height 120 cm) or horizontally (side height 80 cm).

Round, oval, rectangular or square - these are all possible shapes for tanks. Elongated ponds allow you to swim, while compact ones allow you to passively enjoy the water and the sun. Having settled on the specific shape and volume of the structure, they make a diagram to calculate the amount of materials required for the work.

    Required materials and tools

The construction of a medium-sized bathhouse requires 10 standard pallets. Let's consider the calculation of materials using the example of a swimming pool rectangular shape with a side of 120 cm. Length - 4 pallets (320 cm), width 3 (240 cm), a total of 14 pallets. The maximum volume of the tank falls slightly short of 9 m3, i.e. the frame made of wooden panels must contain water pressure with a total weight of slightly less than 9 tons.

    Wooden pallet

The most expensive component of the project is the film. Use regular or line-reinforced film for greenhouses; the denser it is, the better. If possible, purchase a film for waterproofing reservoirs - a special material for swimming pools. The rich blue color of the inner surface of the pool is the color of the polymer coating. Black film for waterproofing garden ponds will cost less. Such a pool does not look so impressive, but the water in it is always warm: the black surfaces quickly warm up. Used suspended ceiling fabrics are also used.

We calculate the size of the film by adding all the dimensions plus the allowance:

    • bottom length 320 cm + two sides of 120 cm + allowance on each side of 20 cm, total - 6 m;
    • bottom width 240 cm + two sides 120 cm + allowance on each side 20 cm, total - 5.2 m.

The standard width of black film for ponds is 6 m, i.e. 6 m.p. of material is enough to equip a pool of the given size.

    Pond film

So, to make a reservoir bowl you will need the following materials:

    1. Pallets - 14 pcs.
    2. PVC film - 6x5.2 m.
    3. Old linoleum, tarpaulin - cover the area under the structure.
    4. Unnecessary blankets, rugs, etc. to cover the bottom, upholster the inside of the sides of the bowl for greater comfort.
    5. Fasteners: long screws, clamps, slings (towing cables), beams, boards, metal brackets - everything that can be used to connect board pallets into a single structure).
    6. Scotch tape is an auxiliary means of intermediate film fastening.
    7. Plywood boards, PVC panels, decking boards - any suitable material for exterior decoration of the frame.
    8. Moisture-repellent impregnation, antiseptics for wood.

Basic materials for making a pool

    Tools needed for assembly:

    • jigsaw, circular saw or hacksaw;
    • screwdriver, hammer;
    • roulette;
    • If you plan to deepen the tank, you will need a shovel.

    Assembly of the structure

Pallets, boards, and bars are treated in advance with protective compounds so that the material is dry by the time the structure is assembled. Step by step, assembling a pool with your own hands is carried out in several successive stages.

    Preparing the site

We mark and level the site, mark the boundaries. If a recessed option was planned, we dig a pit, the area of which is larger than the size of the bottom of the future pool. Since the height of the pallet itself is 15 cm, and the sides are formed by placing the pallets on the edge, the area of the pit more area the space between the four sides is exactly the height of 4 pallets, that is, 60 cm. The depth of the pit consists of the planned “landing” of the frame (20-30 cm) and the thickness of the “cushion” (5-10 cm). Sand and gravel are leveled and compacted. A cheaper option for a “pillow” is to cover the bottom with foam plastic or penoplex. We place the slabs end to end so that there are no gaps.

    Bottom device

We cover the bottom of the pit or a leveled prepared area with linoleum, tarpaulin, roofing felt, or any material at hand.

Sequence of building a pool from pallets

    Wall placement

We stack the pallets close together with the boards facing inward. We connect wooden elements at several levels with self-tapping screws, clamps, and tighten them with slings around the perimeter 10-15 cm from the ground, in the center and 10-15 cm below the upper border of the side. We cover the bowl with available materials (blankets, floor coverings), and upholster the sides. On the one hand, such upholstery will provide comfort for swimmers: leaning on boards covered only with film is not very pleasant. On the other hand, the cushioning material will prevent accidental damage to the film from contact with the boardwalk.

If there is not enough fabric upholstery on the sides, use plywood panels, PVC panels, or any suitable material.

    Waterproofing

We lay the film, straighten it in all the inner corners so that it lies freely and does not stretch, forming voids, especially underfoot. We fix the film allowance to the outer wall of the sides with tape. Fill with water to make sure the resulting tank is sealed.

    Installation of communications

Spending only weekends at your summer cottage, you are unlikely to want to install equipment in the pool for collecting, draining, and filtering water. You can get by with a regular hose without any tools - drain the water by gravity.

If the pool is in the courtyard of a house, where people want to cool off all summer, the water will have to be changed sometimes. In this case, it is worth considering installing simple mechanisms for servicing the pool. You should not use vibration pumps for pumping - there is a high risk of damaging the film if the pump body touches the bottom. You should purchase a bottom pump: many models, in addition to pumping liquid, serve as a filter. After assembling the pool, water is poured in to test the tank for leaks. At the same time, they check the operation of the equipment.

Successful tests allow us to complete the installation of the structure - to carry out finishing work.

    1. Along the top edge, the edge of the sides, we connect adjacent pallets with boards or bars, while simultaneously fixing the film on the sides.
    2. We sheathe the frame from the outside (sides and edge), giving the structure a completed look. If the finishing material does not have decorative qualities (sheets of plywood, ordinary boards), we cover the cladding with stain.
    3. Installation of ladders, stairs, handrails - The final stage. Then pour water. As soon as it warms up, you can open the swimming season.

    Care and maintenance

An outdoor pool requires maintenance, as insects and leaves will get into the water. Floating debris that has settled to the bottom is collected with a net. After swimming, the pool should be covered with material that does not allow light to pass through: the sun's rays gradually cause the water to color, and the sides and bottom become slippery. An opaque shelter will slow down this process and allow you to change the water less often.

    Pool covered with protective film

Universal construction material- wooden pallets - allows you to spend the summer with pleasure, with a personal pond, made with your own hands and not at all expensive. Swimming season at the dacha in a pallet pool is an excellent option if you can’t go to the sea.
